On the afternoon of October 5, a working delegation from the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389 led by Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389, had a working session with the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Comrade Nguyen Quang Hung, Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP and member departments and branches of the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP attended.

The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP reported on the situation, results, advantages and difficulties in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the province in recent times, and some key tasks that member sectors will focus on implementing in the last months of the year. In the first 9 months of this year, the functional forces discovered and arrested 2,047 violations with 2,142 subjects; criminally prosecuted 427 cases and 522 subjects; collected more than 40 billion VND for the state budget. Implementing plan No. 92/KH-BCĐ389 of the National Steering Committee 389, the forces of the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP detected, arrested and handled 2,634 violations, collecting more than 86 billion VND for the state budget.

Comrade Nguyen Minh Tuan, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389, Head of the working delegation spoke at the meeting.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying positive results and some limitations in the fight against smuggling and trade fraud; proposing solutions to more effectively combat and eradicate smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in Thai Binh province.

The Head of the working delegation acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility, the drastic participation and the positive results achieved by the Steering Committee 389/DP of Thai Binh province. However, with the increasing trend of crime, especially high-tech crime, in order to complete the task, the Head of the working delegation requested the Steering Committee 389/DP of the province to continuously improve the professional capacity of its staff and soldiers, share information, coordinate closely in management, inspection and handling of violations; promote the role of the whole people in fighting and denouncing crimes...

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP affirmed that in recent years, the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods has been directed by the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP, and its member sectors have maintained effective implementation, contributing to stabilizing the market, creating a favorable, healthy and stable investment and business environment, helping people and businesses feel secure in investing, developing production and business, and protecting consumer rights. Incorporating the comments of the working group, the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP will supplement tasks and direct functional agencies to flexibly apply solutions to activities against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389/DP hopes that the Standing Office and the National Steering Committee 389 will continue to pay attention to directing, supporting, and helping the functional forces of the Steering Committee 389/DP of Thai Binh province to improve their professional qualifications, modernize facilities to serve the work of fighting smuggling, fraud, trade and counterfeit goods more effectively in the coming time.
