Providing information on the potentials, advantages and development orientations of the province and areas focused on attracting investment, the Provincial Party Secretary expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK would continue to support Thai Binh province in attracting British investors; and accompany the province and businesses of both sides in connecting and implementing cooperation projects.

Speaking at the working sessions, the Provincial Party Secretary affirmed: With the establishment of Thai Binh Economic Zone, there are many strong and largest incentive policies in Vietnam for investment projects in the area; the determination and support of investors by the provincial government, considering investors' work as the province's work; Thai Binh is growing strongly, becoming the most attractive investment destination in the northern provinces of Vietnam.
He also provided more information about the province's position and role in Vietnam as well as its potential for developing LNG and offshore wind power. Currently, Thai Binh is being oriented by the Government to rapidly develop into a developed industrial, commercial and service province; the province currently has 2 thermal power plants with a total capacity of 1,800 MW. Along with that, in the period of 2021 - 2030, Thai Binh continues to implement the Thai Binh LNG power plant project with a capacity of 1,500 MW according to the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030 with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII), expected to start construction in 2025 and complete in 2028; At the same time, it is proposing to include in the implementation plan of the Power Plan VIII the onshore and offshore wind power project in Thai Binh province with a total capacity of about 1024MW, of which onshore wind power is about 224MW, offshore wind power is about 800MW. Therefore, with the orientation of developing green and clean energy in the coming time, aiming at the Netzero target that Vietnam committed to at the COP26 conference, the Provincial Party Secretary respectfully invited BP Energy Group to survey and study the implementation of the offshore wind power project in Thai Binh province; at the same time, expressed the wish that Clifford Chance LLP Company would advise and support the province in urban construction and management towards green urban areas, smart urban areas, saving resources and having a distinct and clear identity; optimally exploiting existing infrastructure; developing and expanding the social infrastructure network, technical infrastructure in a modern and synchronous direction; introducing financial resources to implement the contents of the provincial planning; support financial mechanisms for energy projects, especially offshore wind power projects.
With the advantages and development potential of Thai Binh province in the context of Vietnam's strong development, along with transparent incentive mechanisms and the province's spirit of openness, readiness to cooperate, and high determination, the Provincial Party Secretary pledged that the province will always accompany and create the most favorable conditions for BP Energy Group, Clifford Chance LLP Company and UK partners and enterprises to come and explore opportunities for effective investment cooperation, production and business, and mutual development in the province.

A representative of BP Energy Group said: The Group is very interested in investment cooperation in renewable energy and hydrogen in Thai Binh and realizes that Thai Binh is one of the few localities that have all the conditions to research and develop into an integrated energy center. The Group has sent a contact point in Vietnam and hopes that the two sides will continue to discuss in more detail the proposals between the two sides at the working session.
