(NLDO) – Ho Chi Minh City will resolutely change from a public administration to a service-oriented one; considering people and businesses as the objects of service.

This is the affirmation of Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc at the 81st HUBA Business Coffee program with the theme "City businesses with the goal of double-digit growth".

Although the program did not start until 7:30 a.m., the Chairman of the City People's Committee said he arrived very early to have coffee, breakfast and chat with businessmen, including many female businessmen. The program was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Business Association (HUBA) on the morning of March 8 at the Rex Hotel (District 1).

Talking about the story of double-digit growth in Ho Chi Minh City, the Chairman of the City People's Committee said that this is an "extremely heavy" task, although the city's economy in 2024 has achievements and bright spots. To achieve the goal of stronger economic growth, the city still has new factors such as implementing an international financial center, but it is not easy.

Specifically, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City said that they have proactively implemented solutions such as promoting public investment through focusing mainly on developing transport infrastructure; removing "blood clots" which are projects stuck within the city's authority, despite many difficulties. The city will also strive to clear all resources, put projects into operation to contribute to the city's economy from Can Gio transit port, building and developing a transformation center or financial center...

"The city is expected to form a multi-purpose technology center for development in artificial intelligence (AI), innovation, big data centers, and high-tech investment enterprises. The center is expected to be located in Thu Duc City on the basis of expanding the high-tech industrial park," said Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc.

Regarding improving the investment and business environment, the Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized that the City government is determined to change its mindset from public administration to service, considering people and businesses as the center, and the business community as the driving force and development resource not only of Ho Chi Minh City but also of the whole country.
