On the afternoon of November 18, a working delegation of the Ministry of Health led by Comrade Dao Hong Lan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Health, had a working session in Thai Binh. Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, thanked the Minister of Health and members of the working delegation for taking the time to visit and work in the province. Informing the delegation about the outstanding results of the province's socio-economic development in recent times, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Thai Binh always clearly identifies that economic development must go hand in hand with cultural and social development, in which the health sector receives special attention from local Party committees and authorities. In recent years, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and Provincial People's Committee have issued many policies, mechanisms, and policies in the fields of health, protection, and care for people's health; facilities and medical equipment at the province's medical facilities have been invested in and upgraded; the qualifications of doctors and medical staff have been gradually improved. On average, the whole province has 13.5 doctors/10,000 people; 40.4 hospital beds/10,000 people; the rate of doctors and pharmacists with postgraduate degrees reached 38.5%... Thanks to that, the work of caring for and protecting people's health achieved many positive results.

The health situation of the people in the province has improved significantly; the average life expectancy reached 75.4 years; the quality of medical examination and treatment has been constantly improved... Regarding the development orientation of the health sector in the coming time, Thai Binh will focus on organizing the network and medical human resources; synchronously investing in preventive medicine, infrastructure to prepare the necessary conditions to establish a Cardiovascular Hospital and an Oncology Hospital by 2026; striving for each district general hospital to establish a hemodialysis unit; building a model medical station; completing the construction of a 1,500-bed provincial General Hospital by 2028...

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Ngo Dong Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that Thai Binh is always proud of the tradition of the health sector. Through historical periods, Thai Binh has always paid attention to and focused on the work of caring for and protecting people's health; medical staff and employees are regularly trained, fostered and supplemented. Along with the province's investment, the socialized resources of the system of medical examination and treatment facilities in the province are increasingly improving in quality. Thai Binh is currently a province with a higher number of doctors and hospital beds per 10,000 people than the national average... To achieve the above results, in addition to the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people in the province, there is also the attention, support, assistance and assistance from the central government, including the Ministry of Health and upper-level hospitals. According to the Provincial Party Secretary, Thai Binh's infrastructure system has both state and private investment with high-level specialties and modern equipment. However, the health sector is still facing some difficulties and problems that require more attention, support and investment.

The provincial leaders hope that the Ministry of Health will give opinions, support, and direct and facilitate coordination and cooperation with the province. Along with that, the Ministry and its agencies and units will continue to provide assistance in training and transfer of science and technology to improve the professional qualifications of the province's medical staff to meet the requirements of the task; at the same time, continue to research, review, and grasp the reality to have appropriate mechanisms and policies, especially for autonomous units and the non-public health system. Thai Binh wishes to build a health service center in the region, so the province hopes to receive the attention and support of the Ministry to complete this goal.

Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan acknowledged and highly appreciated the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and Provincial People's Committee in all areas, including the health sector. Despite many difficulties, Thai Binh has made efforts and achieved results in public health care. The Ministry of Health and its units will continue to accompany and provide solutions to support the province in removing difficulties and obstacles, improving quality, and building the Thai Binh health sector to develop more and more. The Minister of Health requested that in the coming time, the Party Committee and the authorities of Thai Binh province continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Central's directives and resolutions on the health sector; at the same time, pay more attention to the grassroots health system. Regarding preventive health work, the province continues to direct the implementation of the right goals, and soon put works and projects into operation. In addition, it is necessary to enhance professional capacity, deploy new and specialized techniques in the health system to reduce the number of patients having to be transferred to other facilities; ensure resources for the health sector, and serve medical examination and treatment activities well.

Regarding the proposals and recommendations of the province, the Ministry will receive and discuss to clarify some contents; at the same time, it is requested that the province continue to contribute opinions and recommendations on problems arising in the process of implementing mechanisms and policies of the industry and sector in order to find solutions.

Also at the meeting, the Minister of Health, members of the delegation and provincial leaders witnessed the signing ceremony of a comprehensive health support cooperation agreement between the People's Committee of Thai Binh province and Bach Mai Hospital for the period 2023-2030.
