According to Deadline, Sarah Polley will be behind the camera to direct the fairy tale about a fawn who loses his mother and faces threats from the outside world. Bambi is the 1942 animated film that helped establish Disney as one of the world's biggest animation studios, with a touching story of love and forgiveness.
Disney's adaptation of Bambi has been announced for years. However, details about the project have been kept under wraps until now. The film is currently in development and it is unclear whether Disney plans to release it in theaters or on Disney+.
The studio is still considering how to release it, for example, the live-action version of "Mufasa: The Lion King" will be released on the big screen next summer, while this year's live-action version of "Peter & Wendy" achieved success after being released on streaming platforms.
