Since the beginning of the season, Diogo Dalot and Wan-Bissaka have taken turns as right-backs for the Manchester team.
However, before the trip to City Ground, coach Ten Hag had a headache because Luke Shaw had not recovered yet, and Malacia had a knee problem.
Normally, MU's third left-back Brandon Williams would be given a chance. However, coach Ten Hag made a surprising decision, switching Diogo Dalot to play with Sancho.
The Dutch tactician's invention was surprisingly effective. Dalot played well throughout the 90 minutes and even scored the Red Devils' first goal in the Premier League this season, from a daring move into the penalty area.
Many MU fans have praised coach Ten Hag's masterful tactical skills. One fan tweeted:
"Dalot was a bit of a trick when he played left-back. We didn't know anything about his ability when he played on the opposite wing. So his performance surprised everyone.
At this rate, if Luke Shaw returns, he will be moved to central defender to replace Lisandro Martinez, while the left flank will continue to belong to Diogo Dalot."
Others admired: "Coach Erik ten Hag turned Diogo Dalot into a real left-back and he scored a beautiful goal. What an excellent coach."
MU fans continued to express: "Dalot's move to the left wing was very impressive. Coach Ten Hag has found another great solution to MU's personnel problem."
Winning convincingly 2-0 against Nottingham Forest, the Manchester team rose to 3rd place in the Premier League table, 3 points ahead of the team behind, Newcastle.
