Accordingly, Russia is prioritizing the development of strategic partnerships with these countries, especially China. Currently, the relationship between the two countries is at an unprecedented level of trust. Notably, Moscow also has a special and privileged strategic partnership with New Delhi.
Mr. Lavrov emphasized the trend toward the formation of a more equitable multipolar world order, saying that countries such as China and India, along with partners in the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), are playing an increasingly important role in the new international order.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent congratulations to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day of the South Asian country, emphasizing the long-standing and strong strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Russian leader expressed confidence in strengthening bilateral cooperation in all areas, asserting that this would contribute to efforts to build a fair multipolar international order.
Moscow-New Delhi relations continue to thrive with regular phone calls between President Putin and Prime Minister Modi. In addition, the head of the Indian government also made two visits to Russia in 2024. These demonstrate the close ties between the two countries in many important strategic agreements.
