On October 8, the National Book Award Council announced the list of 60 book titles selected by the Award Final Jury to propose for the 7th National Book Award - 2024.
Accordingly, the 7th National Book Awards recorded a large number of publishers participating and a significant increase in the number of books submitted. 51/57 publishers submitted books to the award, 10 more than the 6th award.

There are a total of 372 book titles and book series, including 455 books participating in this year's award, 60 more book titles and book series, 20 more books than last year's award.
The 60 titles selected by the Final Jury to be nominated for the 7th National Book Award are in the following fields: Politics - Economics; Social Sciences and Humanities; Natural Sciences and Technology; Culture, Literature and Arts; Children's Books; Books loved by readers.
In the Political - Economic book category, there are 12 nominated works: "Philosophical stories - The lives and thoughts of great Western philosophers"; "True leadership in the north"; "Lean start-up"; "Economics in difficult times"; "History of Western philosophy" (3 books); "Vo Van Kiet - Intelligence and creativity" ...

Notably, this year, the new regulations allow each book category to have a maximum of 2 A prizes, including books written in Vietnamese and translated books. The addition of this award helps diversify and accurately reflect the richness of book genres.

The 7th National Book Awards is also the first time there is a category for Books Favorited by Readers, with 4 nominations: "The Story of the Seagull and the Cat Who Taught Her to Fly" by Luis Sepúlveda (translator: Phuong Huyen); "Nameless Summer" by Nguyen Nhat Anh, "The Teacher" by Nguyen Chi Vinh; "How Much Is Youth Worth" by Rosie Nguyen.
The 7th National Book Awards ceremony is expected to take place in November 2024.
