Mergers expand space
After 15 years of establishment, Phu Thinh has changed a lot. Now, the town has achieved 5/5 criteria and is a type V urban area. Infrastructure has been invested, people's lives have also changed.
Phu Thinh is increasingly becoming a well-planned town, following a modern urban structure. The quality of urban classification criteria is improved, infrastructure, and the framework traffic system are shaped to create a connected, interconnected traffic network.
Per capita income also increased 4 times compared to 2009. The economic strength is also stronger with 7 enterprises and 433 individual business households. In particular, this town has also formed the Hill 30 industrial cluster, attracting many investment enterprises.
Chairman of Phu Ninh District People's Committee Huynh Xuan Chinh said that the role of the district's central urban area has been promoted, so the policy will choose to merge Tam Vinh commune into Phu Thinh, forming an expanded Phu Thinh urban area. This will bring advantages when the two localities have similar history and many similar cultural and historical factors.
Mr. Chinh said that the merger will facilitate the management of administrative boundaries, infrastructure and stable cultural institutions as well as facilitate transportation for people.
Specifically, when merged, the new town has a total natural area of 20.32 km2 , a population of 11,029 people, ensuring the criteria according to the provisions of Resolution No. 1211 of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
This has both basic advantages because the two localities have a history of formation as Tam Vinh commune before, with many similar cultural and historical factors. When merged, it will be convenient for the management of administrative boundaries, infrastructure and stable cultural institutions and convenient transportation for the people.
“The merger will have socio-economic impacts, create resources, expand development space, promote the potential and advantages of localities, and improve people's lives.
We also have the conditions to review and implement a synchronous planning of the transport infrastructure system, medical facilities, education, etc. to facilitate people's travel, economic development, trade, gradually improve the quality of service to the people and ensure social security" - Mr. Chinh said.
Towards multifunctional urban areas
Former Chairman of Tam Vinh Commune People's Committee Truong Van Tri shared that from the first name of Thanh Minh Commune (1946), over 80 years, the administrative boundaries and name of Tam Vinh - Phu Thinh have been adjusted 7 times. But each time, the people supported and agreed because it was suitable for each historical period for socio-economic development.
The concern of the people is the story of how to develop to avoid the story of "oversized clothes that the wearer still wears out".
“When expanding the administrative boundaries and space of the town, this urban area must also be developed commensurately with widespread infrastructure, and essential criteria in the life of urban residents must be of quality. We are ready to join hands in the journey to change the appearance and stature of the new urban area of Phu Thinh expanded town,” said Mr. Tri.
To continue to perfect the criteria for a type V urban area and aim to achieve some criteria for a type IV urban area, and to determine the importance of urban beautification and infrastructure construction, the People's Committee of Phu Ninh district has developed a proposal for the development of this urban area.
At the same time, research and implement the general planning for urban construction of Phu Thinh and surrounding areas from 648ha to 713ha. Not to mention, each year Phu Thinh is invested 30 billion VND to focus resources on urban development in the period of 2020 - 2025.
The identity positioning for Phu Thinh after expansion will be a town with comprehensive functions, harmonizing the space of the current Phu Thinh area with the renovation, embellishment and development of the current Tam Vinh area.
“Strongly develop regional connectivity, organize, arrange, renovate and form new urban residential areas, ensure housing and social infrastructure for urban residents.
