On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the historic event of Truong Bon (October 31, 1968 - October 31, 2023), I was very moved to join my comrades in attending the special art program: "Truong Bon - Heroic Footprints" co-organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and Nghe An province. This is a meaningful activity, honoring the glorious revolutionary tradition of our army and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country, paying tribute to the heroes, martyrs, those who contributed to the revolution, especially the 13 heroic youth volunteers of Company 317 - Team 65 - General Youth Volunteers against the US to save the country who heroically sacrificed at the legendary site of Truong Bon, contributing to strengthening the education of tradition, patriotism, national pride and responsibility of today's generation.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, I would like to send to all delegates, distinguished guests, veteran revolutionaries, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the armed forces, wounded and sick soldiers, veterans, former youth volunteers, relatives of martyrs, and all the people my respectful sentiments, warm greetings and deepest gratitude.

We are present at Truong Bon National Historical Site, My Son Commune, Do Luong District, Nghe An Province, the revolutionary homeland - a steadfast and indomitable land that has been tempered and tested through the arduous but extremely glorious stages of the Vietnamese revolution.
Nghe An is very proud to be the land that gave birth to President Ho Chi Minh, the great leader of the entire Vietnamese people, the national liberation hero, and an outstanding cultural celebrity. This is also the homeland of many outstanding leaders of the Vietnamese revolution; the place where the fierce struggles of the pre-uprising period arose; the place where our army and people fought bravely and achieved glorious victories in the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism.
During the resistance war against the US to save the country, the heroic revolutionary tradition of Nghe An homeland was forged in the minds, hearts and will of the steadfast, resilient people who remained at the front line. Together with the people of the whole country, the soldiers, the army, the youth volunteers, the frontline laborers and all the Vietnamese people devoted themselves to helping the vehicles roll, bringing weapons, ammunition and our troops to the battlefield, fighting until the day of complete victory.
On those fiery roads, the steel of ardent patriotism and indomitable fighting always shines brightly. And Truong Bon has become a strategic location, a unique and especially important route; a place to fiercely resist many fierce attacks by the enemy; soldiers, troops, and youth volunteers have day and night stuck to the line, made efforts to defuse bombs, repair roads, open routes, and connect the traffic veins from the great rear of the socialist North to the great frontline battlefield of the South - the citadel of the Fatherland.
The section of National Highway 15, the Ho Chi Minh Motorway, passing through Truong Bon is about 5 km long, but from June to October 1968 alone, it suffered nearly 2,700 bombs of various types from the American invaders. From 1964 to 1968, the enemy dropped nearly 19,000 bombs of various types and tens of thousands of missiles on this heroic land, destroying 211 villages and hamlets along the route, killing many people in My Son and Nhan Son communes, Do Luong district; destroying hundreds of cars and hundreds of artillery pieces of our army; thousands of cadres, soldiers, youth volunteers, workers in the Transport sector, and militiamen were injured; 1,240 cadres and soldiers fought bravely and heroically sacrificed. On October 31, 1968, at about 6:10 a.m., enemy planes frantically dropped bombs on Truong Bon. That devastating bombing took the lives of 13 soldiers, right before the US empire was forced to stop bombing the North at 0:00 on November 1, 1968.
The great sacrifice of those brave sons contributed their red blood, devoted their youth to the victories of the army and people of Nghe An, to the victory of the nation, bringing peace to the country. The names and faces of that youth have been incarnated into history, and will forever be remembered and remembered by future generations.

The war has long gone, the land of Truong Bon, which was once a bombed and stormed land, has revived and stood up, proud and extremely proud. In recent years, the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An province have had many policies and activities to honor the glorious feats, pay tribute to the sacrifices of generations of heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, youth volunteers, soldiers and laborers at the Truong Bon fire coordinates. The glorious history of the fierce old battlefield and the brave and resilient examples of the children of this land have always been engraved. Truong Bon Nghe An Relic Site has become an important destination for many cultural, educational and tourism activities; a red address to foster patriotism, ignite the spirit of fighting, winning and heroic sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people.
Promoting the patriotic and revolutionary tradition of the land of talented people, the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An have continuously strived to build and develop the province to become more and more prosperous, the people have an increasingly prosperous and happy life. The economy has grown strongly, the structure has shifted positively towards industrialization and modernization; agriculture and rural areas have received strong investment; many appropriate mechanisms and policies have been implemented synchronously and comprehensively, contributing to realizing the goal of rapid and sustainable development of the country.
Culture and society have made many advances, social security is guaranteed, more comprehensive, comprehensive and sustainable. Policies for people with meritorious services are implemented promptly, substantially and effectively; the material and spiritual life of the people is improved and enhanced. National defense - security, order and social safety are maintained. The work of building the Party and the political system is strengthened. These important and very proud achievements are creating a solid momentum for Nghe An to continue to break through and develop strongly in the coming time.
On this occasion, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, I warmly commend and highly appreciate the comprehensive socio-economic achievements of the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An province in recent years, including the work of caring for people with meritorious services and paying attention to building red addresses in educating traditions for today's young generation.
Dear compatriots and comrades!
The heroic history of the nation is always present in today's life, Truong Bon relic and many other sacred places across the country, especially the flames that fuel the spirit of not retreating, overcoming all dangers and challenges to bring the country up to stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as President Ho Chi Minh wished during his lifetime and the aspiration of our entire nation. Therefore, historical relics are truly special traditional educational addresses, unique symbols of patriotism and Vietnamese revolutionary heroes, wings to lift us up, so that we can live, fight, work and study following the example of the great Uncle Ho and the heroic martyrs who fought and sacrificed for the Fatherland so that we can be more worthy, live brighter, more beautifully with the country.
With that spirit, over the years, Nhan Dan Newspaper and Nghe An Provincial Party Committee have actively promoted initiatives and made efforts to organize special art events praising the historical event of Truong Bon, honoring the examples of youth sacrifices and bloodshed to beautify this land. The event takes place annually, becoming an opportunity to review the heroic traditions of the nation, spread patriotism, gratitude, and commemorate those who came before. Through the special performances, elaborately staged in this art program, history is once again recreated and patriotism is once again deeply ingrained in each of us. Along with that, the program's Organizing Committee also coordinated to carry out activities to repay gratitude, visit and support war invalids, sick soldiers, and people with meritorious services in the locality, thereby contributing to the enlightenment of the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" of our nation.

This meaningful art program needs to be continued, I hope that comrades will create more good and touching performances about patriotism and revolutionary heroes to serve the masses. At the same time, I hope that gratitude activities will be increasingly implemented creatively and effectively, continuing to receive practical support from the whole society. I also request that departments, ministries, branches, localities, agencies, organizations, businesses and people nationwide join hands to better care for the material and spiritual lives of families of martyrs, war invalids, sick soldiers, veterans, former youth volunteers and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
In particular, I propose that the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An province, with the support of Nhan Dan Newspaper and other agencies, departments and branches, need to have a long-term plan to preserve and effectively promote the historical, cultural and traditional values at Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site, the proud revolutionary tradition of the province, with many forms of rich and creative propaganda and education of traditions, so that the heroic epic of Truong Bon continues to spread, remaining deep in the hearts of the people of Nghe An and the people of the whole country.
Finally, I wish all veteran comrades, Armed Forces Heroes, wounded and sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, people with revolutionary contributions, and all delegates, compatriots, and comrades good health, happiness, and success.
