The Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2024 (ABU Robocon 2024) is a playground for students who are passionate about robots from countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region. From August 23 to 27, the competition will be held at the Quang Ninh Sports Complex (Dai Yen Ward, Ha Long City). Up to this point, the work of ensuring safe, continuous, stable and quality power supply for this important sporting event is ready.

Ha Long City Electricity is reviewing all electrical equipment at Quang Ninh Sports Complex.

According to the plan, the ABU Robocon 2024 competition at the Quang Ninh Sports Complex on August 25 will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television and livestreamed on the social network platform VTV2 Quality of Life. Determining that the competition is an opportunity to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam in general, and to introduce and promote the potentials and strengths of the province, immediately after receiving instructions from the Provincial People's Committee on preparations before, during and after the event, Quang Ninh Electricity Company requested Ha Long City Electricity to make a detailed plan for the power supply plan. At the same time, proactively coordinate with the Event Organizing Committee, representatives of related units to survey the event area, as well as the locations of power supply points.

According to the plan, during the event, Ha Long City Power Company will not cut off medium and low voltage power and will set up specific schedules for each operation management team and each related department. At the same time, the unit will conduct a comprehensive inspection of 22/0.4kV transformer stations, handle defects and points at risk of heat generation on 22-35kV lines, and arrange forces to inspect the safety corridor of the high voltage grid and underground cables supplying power to key areas of the competition. Ha Long Power Company technical staff also instructed Quang Ninh Sports Complex staff to practice the plan to handle unexpected power outages, automatically switching from grid power to generators when there is a power outage and vice versa when there is power, to ensure that the power source does not interrupt the competition. In particular, to ensure a stable power source during the competition, Ha Long Power will arrange a separate 22kV line from Yen Cu 110kV station and reserve 2 additional backup power sources from 22kV line 474. E5.4 and line 471. E5.4.

Mr. Pham Duc Thanh, Deputy Director of Ha Long Electricity, said: The new 110kV Yen Cu station was put into use by the Electricity sector from May 2024. Previously, the western area of Ha Long City was supplied with electricity from the 110kV Gieng Day transformer station (Ha Long City) and partly supported by the 110kV Cho Roc transformer station (Quang Yen Town). Due to the large power supply radius and the unique wiring, the power supply to the area has limited reliability and is not flexible. Therefore, separating other customers from the 22kV line of the 110kV Yen Cu station and dedicating this line exclusively to the Quang Ninh Sports Complex will increase the reliability and safety of power supply for the competition, even more so than when Quang Ninh hosted the 31st SEA Games event here.

Leaders of Ha Long City Electricity and representatives of Quang Ninh Sports Complex discussed and agreed on a power supply plan.

Although there is a main power source and 2 backup power sources, with the spirit of not being subjective or negligent in any situation, from August 23 to 27, Ha Long City Power Company will also send working groups including technicians and operation management workers to be on duty at the site. The outer ring also includes safety officers, Power Company leaders and on-site inspection teams to prevent impacts and points of risk of electrical incidents.

As for the Quang Ninh Sports Complex, as soon as the task was assigned, the unit closely coordinated with Ha Long City Electricity to deploy plans to ensure electricity, actively inspect and review all electrical equipment in the competition area. From there, coordinate maintenance, repair, and promptly fix any shortcomings. At the same time, the unit also quickly added equipment such as generators, UPS, lighting systems, etc.; and developed plans to ensure backup electricity when natural disasters and storms occur.

Up to this point, the work of ensuring safe, continuous, stable and quality electricity supply for the competition has been carefully and thoughtfully prepared by the Electricity industry and related units.
