Ha Long City reduced to 11 specialized agencies after rearrangement

On February 27, the People's Council of Ha Long City, term II, 2021-2026, held the 28th session (special session) to discuss and resolve a number of contents related to the establishment and reorganization of specialized agencies under the City People's Committee. and adjust and supplement economic and social development targets and tasks for 2025.

At this session, the Ha Long City People's Council resolved to establish 5 specialized agencies; reorganize 2 specialized agencies; and maintain the functions and tasks of 4 specialized agencies. After the arrangement, establishment, and reorganization, the number of specialized agencies under the City People's Committee was reduced from 13 to 11 agencies compared to before.

City People's Council delegates voted to pass resolutions at the meeting.

Specifically: Establish the Department of Home Affairs on the basis of merging the Department of Home Affairs and the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; establish the Department of Agriculture and Environment on the basis of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and receive additional functions and tasks on agriculture and rural development from the Department of Economy and functions and tasks on poverty reduction from the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of the city; establish the Department of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Area on the basis of the Department of Urban Management and receive additional functions and tasks on the field of small-scale industry, industry and trade from the Department of Economy of the city; establish the Department of Culture, Science and Information on the basis of the Department of Culture and Information and receive additional functions and tasks on science and technology from the Department of Economy. Reorganize the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Health, the Department of Ethnic Minorities (renamed the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion).

The City People's Council also resolved to adjust the city's production value growth rate target for 2025 from 16.8% to 18.8%. Of which, services will increase by 23% or more; industry and construction will increase by 17.1% or more; agriculture, forestry and fishery will increase by 9.5% or more; total social investment capital will increase by over 10%. The urbanization rate will reach over 90%, shifting from the social indicator group to the economic indicator group; the rate of rural households using clean water will reach over 85%...

City leaders presented decisions and flowers to congratulate leaders of specialized agencies under the City People's Committee after the establishment and reorganization.

Immediately after the meeting, the Ha Long City People's Committee held a conference to announce the Resolution of the City People's Council on the establishment and reorganization of specialized agencies under the City People's Committee. At the same time, it announced the Resolutions of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on personnel work; announced and handed over decisions on the transfer and appointment of civil servants to lead and manage the Heads and Deputy Heads of specialized agencies under the City People's Committee after the establishment and reorganization.
