Dak Song farmers are changing their production processes towards clean and safe products to increase value.

After the 5th District Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, Dak Song District Party Committee issued 7 resolutions, 22 directives and programs, plans... to concretize the set goals.

Implementing resolutions and plans, Dak Song district has focused on developing clean agriculture, applying high technology in a sustainable direction, connecting development according to value chain linkage from production, processing to product consumption.

Dak Song has nearly 55,000 hectares of agricultural land. The climate and soil of the district are favorable for many key crops such as coffee, pepper, durian, short-term crops, etc.

By the end of 2022, the district will have 2,332 hectares of pepper certified for all types; 239 hectares of coffee certified for Fairtrade, UTZ, and organic; 65 hectares of durian certified for VietGAP; and 38 hectares of vegetables certified for safety.

The district has established two high-tech pepper production areas, with 1,549 hectares in Thuan Ha and Thuan Hanh communes. Currently, the district is reviewing, evaluating, identifying and proposing the Provincial People's Committee to recognize a high-tech agricultural area for coffee production in Nam Binh commune, with 400 hectares.

The district has 9 linked chains, with the participation of enterprises, some cooperatives and production facilities. The products of the linked chains are all certified to standards.

Notable among them are the pepper production and consumption chains of Tran Chau Trading and Import-Export Service Joint Stock Company; An Phong Investment and Import-Export Joint Stock Company; Sam Joint Stock Company; Huong Son Ha Spices Company; Haprosimex Joint Stock Company; Phuc Thinh Import-Export Company; Newman Coffee Company...

Dak Song is also a major vegetable producing area of the province.

According to Mr. Le Hoang Vinh, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Song district, the district is focusing on promoting high-tech agricultural activities.

The district focuses on effectively developing the collective economic sector, promoting the establishment of cooperatives, cooperative groups, and production groups to create advantages in output, quality, brand, price, product distribution, etc.

Along with that, the district focuses on replicating effective agricultural models, sustainable development, and high technology application.

Mr. Vinh said that the agricultural sector is encouraging farmers to participate in linking agricultural value chains. This is an inevitable trend and an important factor in changing the economic growth model.

At a recent working session with the Standing Committee of Dak Song District, comrade Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, assessed that Dak Song is on the right track and in line with the proposed resolution.

The results of implementing Dak Song's resolution on agriculture have shown very good signs compared to the whole province. Dak Song has many advantages, especially in agriculture.

To promote this advantage, Dak Song district needs to clearly orient people to avoid the situation of following the market, planting this tree and cutting down that tree.

"Clean agriculture is very important. With the same area, but doing high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture has very high value. The district needs to mobilize people to go in the right direction," comrade Ho Van Muoi directed.
