Comrades: Dieu K'Re, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Bui Huy Thanh, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department chaired the conference.
Implementing Directive No. 24, the Standing Committee of Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee has focused on synchronous leadership and direction from the stages of organizing dissemination, learning, establishing Oriental Medicine Associations at all levels, and developing implementation projects. The province's traditional medicine system is increasingly being developed.
In 2017, the Provincial Party Committee issued Directive No. 22 on the development of medicinal plants in the province. The Provincial People's Committee has implemented the Directive through many programs, plans and projects to promote the development of medicinal plants in the locality.
By the end of 2022, the Provincial General Hospital and district health centers will have a Traditional Medicine Department; 100% of health stations will have a Traditional Medicine doctor or assistant; 68/71 communes, wards and towns will meet national health criteria.
Many high-tech services in traditional medicine such as electroacupuncture, thread implantation, etc. have been widely deployed, helping to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, meeting the needs of traditional medicine examination and treatment of people in the province.
The Provincial Oriental Medicine Association currently has 276 members. The district level has 8/8 Oriental Medicine Associations and the commune level has 53 branches/71 communes, wards and towns. In 2023, Dak Nong established a Traditional Medicine humanitarian clinic managed by the Provincial Oriental Medicine Association. The Provincial Oriental Medicine Association has received 46 valuable prescriptions donated by members at all levels.
At the conference, delegates discussed the results achieved, shortcomings, and limitations, and proposed that the Central and the province pay attention to increasing investment in modern equipment to serve the diagnosis and treatment of traditional medicine. The Party, the State, and localities continue to develop and promulgate mechanisms and priority policies in production, creating conditions for localities, businesses, and people to participate in the conservation and development of medicinal herbs, including the development of medicinal herbs under the forest canopy.
In his concluding remarks at the conference, Comrade Dieu K'Re, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved. In particular, he commended the efforts and responsibility of the staff, members of the Oriental Medicine Association at all levels and traditional medicine establishments who devoted their enthusiasm and proactively contributed to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment services using traditional medicine methods and combining traditional medicine with modern medicine.
In the coming time, Party committees at all levels will continue to focus on leadership, direction, and promotion of propaganda to raise awareness of the political system and people of all walks of life about the role, position, and importance of oriental medicine and the oriental medicine association in the new situation. Agencies and functional units will study and develop appropriate mechanisms and policies to create favorable conditions to promote the development of oriental medicine and the Oriental Medicine Association of the province.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dieu K'Re assigned the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department to preside over and advise the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee to issue a document to lead the development of Traditional Medicine and Oriental Medicine Associations at all levels in the province in accordance with the local situation and the general direction of the Secretariat in the coming time.
