Localities in Dak Lak province will simultaneously start building 4,285 houses under Project 214 on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses to help poor and near-poor households in the province in early March.

Implementing Project 214 on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction, Department of Finance, localities and related units to direct the construction of 4,285 houses to give to poor and near-poor households in the province in 2025. Of these, there are more than 1,650 ethnic minority households in the area.

The total cost of the house construction is 342.8 billion VND. The support level for building each new house is 80 million VND. Of which, the money from the Central Government's support program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is more than 257 billion VND and the Dak Lak provincial budget is 85.7 billion VND.

In addition, localities and departments in Dak Lak also actively propagate, mobilize socialization, support more funds, materials, and labor days to build more spacious houses and ensure progress, helping poor families stabilize their lives soon.

Recently, on February 20, Cu M'gar district held the Launching Ceremony and started the construction of the first house. According to the Project of the Central Government and Dak Lak province, supporting the construction of 4,285 houses for poor and near-poor households in the province, Cu M'gar district will eliminate 338 temporary and dilapidated houses. Of which, 291 new houses will be built and 47 houses will be repaired.

The first house was built for the family of Mrs. Ngo Thi Kim Xuyen, in residential group 1, Quang Phu town, Cu M'gar district. This is a poor and disadvantaged household. The four members of her family have lived in this makeshift house for many years, without land for production; Mrs. Xuyen and her husband are over 80 years old, one of their two sons had a traffic accident and has been unable to work for many years.
