(Bqp.vn) - On the morning of March 29, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense held a March 2024 meeting to evaluate the results of leadership in implementing military and defense tasks in March and deploy key tasks in April 2024. General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense chaired the meeting.
Attending the conference were General Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Standing member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Party Central Committee member, Standing member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense; and members of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Ministers of National Defense: Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam.
Also attending the conference were Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; and leaders of a number of agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense.

After listening to the report on the results of the implementation of tasks in March 2024, the direction of tasks in April 2024 and the opinions expressed at the conference, General Phan Van Giang commended the leaders, commanders at all levels and officers, soldiers, and the entire army for successfully completing the tasks in March 2024.
The entire army strictly maintains the duty and combat readiness regime; grasps the situation, proactively advises and effectively handles situations, avoids being passive or surprised, firmly protects territorial sovereignty; coordinates to maintain security and order nationwide. Submits to the Prime Minister for approval the Project "Building and improving the effectiveness of military command and militia forces at the border, coastal and island levels, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation" to ensure progress and quality. Strictly controls entry and exit activities on the border, sea and island; resolutely and persistently chases away foreign ships violating and encroaching on Vietnam's waters; effectively maintains the peak period of combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. Actively researches and completes the Project for military parades and marches to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South. Tightly organizes training in phase 1; inspect the training of the forces marching and marching to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory; inspect the education, training, and regular construction work of a number of schools and announce the military recruitment quota for 2024.

To effectively carry out the key tasks of April 2024, General Phan Van Giang requested leaders and commanders at all levels to be proactive, regularly follow the tasks, and implement them synchronously and flexibly to successfully complete the set targets and plans. Strictly maintain the combat readiness regime, closely manage the airspace, sea, border, inland, and cyberspace; grasp, assess, and accurately forecast the situation, promptly advise and effectively handle situations, avoid being passive and surprised, firmly protect territorial sovereignty, and coordinate to maintain security and order nationwide. Strengthen control and prevent illegal entry and exit at borders, seas, and islands; promote the peak period of the fight against IUU fishing. Proactively prevent and combat natural disasters, search and rescue. Synchronously implement solutions to improve the quality of training, education, drills, competitions, and sports events.
General Phan Van Giang also requested leaders and commanders at all levels to closely follow and grasp the units; do a good job of political education, ideological leadership, information and propaganda; strengthen the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints. Widely deploy political and ideological activities on the content of the work "Building and developing a comprehensive, modern Vietnamese foreign affairs and diplomacy imbued with the identity of Vietnamese bamboo" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
