( Bqp.vn ) - Within the framework of the program "Warm Border Spring for the People" in 2025 chaired by the Border Guard Command in coordination with the People's Committee of Lai Chau province, on the afternoon of January 9, President Luong Cuong visited and extended New Year greetings to the Party Committee and People's Committee of Pa Tan commune; New Year greetings to the Military Command and Police of Pa Tan commune; New Year greetings to units of the Border Guard and schools in Pa Tan commune; and presented gifts to poor households in Pa Tan commune, Sin Ho district, Lai Chau province.
Leaders of the Border Guard along with representatives of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Lai Chau province welcomed President Luong Cuong.
The President's delegation included General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; Party Central Committee members: Ho Duc Phoc, Deputy Prime Minister; Le Khanh Hai, Head of the Office of the President; Nguyen Dinh Khang, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; and Giang Pao My, Secretary of the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee.
Also attending were: Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army. Also attending the activities were representatives of leaders of Central Committees, Ministries, branches, the Ministry of National Defense and Lai Chau province.

In 2025, the program "Spring Border Guard warms the hearts of the villagers" will be organized at 3 levels (Border Guard Command level, Provincial Border Guard level, Border Guard Station level). With the motto "The station is home - the border is the homeland - ethnic minorities are blood brothers", the program "Spring Border Guard warms the hearts of the villagers" is organized every time Tet comes, Spring comes, is "sentiment, responsibility", "sharing the joys and sorrows", "sharing the joys and sorrows", is "gratitude" of officers and soldiers of the Border Guard towards ethnic minorities in the border and island areas.

Speaking to the Party Committee, government, officers, soldiers of the armed forces and local people, President Luong Cuong emphasized that despite many difficulties, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Lai Chau province have united, tried and made efforts to overcome all difficulties and challenges, basically fulfilling the goals and targets for economic, cultural and social development; the lives of the people in the area have clearly improved; national defense, security and foreign affairs have been consolidated and strengthened.

President Luong Cuong praised the Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard for successfully fulfilling its role as the core, specialized force in managing and firmly protecting the territorial sovereignty and national border security; closely coordinating and uniting with the Police and other forces to grasp the situation, promptly advising Party committees and authorities at all levels on many policies and solutions for socio-economic development associated with ensuring national defense, security and foreign affairs in border areas; proactively and actively preventing, combating and fighting all types of crimes and law violations; promoting its role as the leading force in ensuring security and order in border areas and border gates, creating favorable conditions for the trade of goods, people and vehicles through border gates...

President Luong Cuong expressed his delight at knowing that on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the Border Guard, together with other functional forces, has done a good job of protecting territorial sovereignty, maintaining security and order in border areas; managing and controlling entry and exit; fighting and preventing crimes, carrying out border diplomacy and people's diplomacy; closely coordinating with local Party committees and authorities at all levels and sectors to take care of Tet for people in border areas. This is an act that demonstrates the sense of responsibility, the tradition of mutual love and affection of the nation and the good nature of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, contributing to beautifying the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new era.

Faced with the requirements of the tasks in the coming time, President Luong Cuong requested the Party Committee, authorities, all levels, sectors and forces of Lai Chau province to focus on leadership, direction and thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; focus on promoting results and advantages, resolutely overcoming shortcomings and limitations, proactively removing obstacles and inadequacies; focus on successfully completing the tasks of 2025 right from the first day, the first week and the first month.

Regarding the Border Guard force, President Luong Cuong noted that it is necessary to further promote the core and specialized role in managing and firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security; actively and proactively advise and participate with localities in propagating and mobilizing people to strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and local regulations, build and consolidate the grassroots political system, and develop the socio-economy in border areas. Along with that, the Border Guard promotes and improves the quality of activities of cadres participating in local Party committees and authorities at all levels, Party members of Border Guard stations participating in Party cells in villages and hamlets and in charge of households in border areas. Continue to implement effective programs and models, such as: "Border Spring warms the hearts of villagers", "Bringing children to school - Adopted children of Border Guard stations", "Accompanying women in border areas"...; Maintain and effectively carry out border diplomacy work, promote the effectiveness of the Twinning Movement of Residential Clusters on both sides of the border, contribute to building a peaceful, stable, friendly, cooperative and developing border, and build a prosperous border area.
