On April 10, at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Türkiye, Ambassador Do Son Hai had a working session with Mr. Burçin Değirmencioğlu, Deputy Secretary General of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI).
ICI is the largest and oldest Chamber of Industry in Türkiye. After more than 70 years of operation, ICI now has more than 22,000 members, including many large corporations in Türkiye. ICI members contribute 32.7% of the total industrial production value of Turkey.
At the meeting, Mr. Değirmencioğlu said that Vietnam is one of the five key countries in ICI's work orientation in 2023. ICI's promotion of cooperation with Vietnam is also in line with the Turkish Government's orientation in enhancing economic and trade connections with potential Asian countries.
In May 2023, ICI will organize a business delegation to Vietnam to meet and connect with suitable partners in the footwear industry. Mr. Değirmencioğlu thanked the Vietnamese Embassy for its cooperation in organizing the above activities, hoping that ICI and the Embassy will continue to closely coordinate with many practical activities in the coming time.
Ambassador Do Son Hai highly appreciated the organization of a business delegation to Vietnam to enhance research and promote trade and affirmed that the Embassy will continue to closely coordinate with ICI for the above activities.
In general, in 2023, the Ambassador emphasized his desire to cooperate more deeply with ICI in three areas: Increasing investment, thereby promoting information about the Vietnamese market and investment environment to the Turkish business community; promoting trade connection activities in many fields, first of all in agriculture and promoting cooperation in the tourism sector.
Mr. Değirmencioğlu acknowledged the Ambassador's comments and pledged to have more specific discussions after his working trip to Vietnam.
