According to THX , during the meeting in Beijing, Foreign Minister Wang Yi noted that China and the US have many common interests and broad prospects for cooperation that can benefit both countries and the world.
At this critical moment in bilateral relations, both sides need to take the common perception and important vision of the leaders of the two countries as guidance, strengthen communication, enhance mutual understanding, avoid misjudgments and manage disagreements.
According to China's top diplomat, the country is willing to have dialogue and consultation with the US on the basis of equality and mutual respect to resolve legitimate concerns.
For his part, Mr. Greenberg said that the US-China relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world. Both sides should use their experience and wisdom to improve understanding, expand cooperation and coexist peacefully.
Mr. Greenberg emphasized that in a world with increasingly more risk and instability factors, both sides should increase contact to realize the vision of the two countries' leaders and achieve peace and prosperity for each country.
Previously, on March 25, the US intelligence community released its "Annual Threat Assessment Report" showing that China remains the top military and cyber threat to Washington.
China has the ability to attack the US with conventional weapons, sabotage infrastructure through cyber attacks, target US assets in space and is seeking to replace Washington as the leading power in artificial intelligence (AI) by 2030, the report said.
Responding to the report, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun urged Washington to stop viewing Beijing through a “hegemonic mentality.” According to him, Washington’s promotion of the theory that Beijing is a threat is only aimed at containing and containing China.
