Ambassador of Lao PDR pays courtesy call to Dien Bien province leaders

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Duc Toan received Lao Ambassador Kham Phau An Tha Van.

Comrade Pham Duc Toan informed the delegation about some of the socio-economic achievements that Dien Bien province has achieved in the past year. In particular, the province has just successfully organized a cultural and sports exchange program between students of Dien Bien province and 6 provinces of Northern Laos. In addition, the coordination and border protection work has been closely implemented by Dien Bien province; the relationship and cooperation between Dien Bien province and the provinces of Northern Laos have always been nurtured and maintained. Policies to ensure social security have been fully implemented, in which Dien Bien province has basically eliminated temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households.

Dien Bien province hopes to cooperate with the northern provinces of Laos in developing renewable energy, industrial crops as well as cooperating in tourism development... Dien Bien province also requested the Ambassador to consult with the Lao Party and State to soon upgrade the traffic routes from Tay Trang border gate to Udom Xay and Bo Keo; the traffic route from Huoi Puoc - Na Son border gate to Luang Prabang.

Provincial leaders took souvenir photos with the delegation of the Embassy of the Lao PDR at the reception.

On behalf of the delegation, Ambassador Kham Phau An Tha Van sincerely thanked the leaders of Dien Bien province for taking the time to welcome them. This is the first time the Ambassador and the delegation have visited and worked in Dien Bien. Through the meeting, the Ambassador and the delegation have better understood the achievements and plans of Dien Bien in socio-economic development; especially the relationship and cooperation between Dien Bien province and the northern provinces of Laos. Regarding the opinions and proposals of Dien Bien province, the Ambassador will receive and give opinions to the Government and State of Laos. The Ambassador also wished the leaders of Dien Bien province and the people of all ethnic groups in the province a happy, warm and prosperous Lunar New Year 2024.
