DNVN - Taking place from June 20-23, Vietnam Goods Week 2024 in Japan with the theme "Coming to AEON is seeing Vietnam", officially opened at AEON Lake Town Mori Shopping Center, Japan.
Within the framework of the Project "Promoting Vietnamese enterprises to directly participate in foreign distribution systems" of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, "Vietnamese Goods Week at AEON supermarket system in Japan" has been an annual activity for many years.
This activity is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and AEON Group. Following the success of Vietnam Goods Week 2023, this year's event will take place over 4 days instead of 3 days like last year. With the increased exhibition time, Vietnam Goods Week 2024 at AEON Japan promises to be a successful event that contributes to promoting cultural exchange between Vietnam and Japan.
With the theme "Come to AEON to see Vietnam", Vietnam Goods Week 2024 vividly recreates Vietnamese culture at AEON Japan. The booths are decorated with local characteristics, combined with an attractive Vietnamese street food area, bringing customers a unique cultural and culinary experience.
Featured products introduced at the event.
In addition to the cultural space imbued with Vietnamese identity, the event is also an opportunity for Japanese customers to experience the “true feeling” of Vietnamese delicacies. This is not only something that attracts international tourists but is also an essential part of Vietnamese life. Through the Vietnamese Goods Week, AEON hopes to increase Japanese customers’ understanding of Vietnamese products, cuisine and culture, thereby helping them love the country and people of Vietnam more.
Vietnam Goods Week 2024 at AEON Japan promises to bring Japanese customers an exciting journey to discover Vietnamese cuisine and culture. The event brings together more than 35 reputable suppliers nationwide, introducing typical dishes, Vietnamese culinary ingredients, and "Vietnamese" menus suitable for "Japanese meals".
The key product groups focused on this year include “Vietnamese Bread” – a product that is popular in Japan, “Vietnamese Rice Paper” and tropical fruits. In addition, the event also brings to customers familiar and popular products such as agricultural products, seafood, dried foods, household appliances, health care products, etc.
According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang: “The Vietnamese Government always encourages and creates conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to connect and become a link in the global supply chain in general and in the AEON system in particular. The program is a bridge, helping to bring AEON customers and more broadly, Japanese consumers closer to Vietnam, to learn more about the country and people of Vietnam. These are also useful activities that contribute to promoting the development of Vietnam - Japan relations, which have developed well over the past many years”.
Ms. Mitsuko Tsuchiya, Deputy General Director of AEON Group (Japan) and General Director of AEON TOPVALU Japan said: “The Vietnamese Goods Week program has been organized by AEON since 2017 and has entered its 8th year. Every year, we receive great expectations from customers. We were the first unit to sell Vietnamese lychees in Japan in 2020. By 2023, we will be the first unit to sell longan in Japan, bringing delicious products from Vietnam to Japanese customers. At this year's Vietnam festival, we introduce popular fruits such as lychees, longans, bananas, along with fish dishes. Vietnam has a long coastline like Japan, so fish dishes are very rich. Not only that, we also want to introduce desserts made from Vietnamese coffee and diverse food products from Vietnam”.
