On the afternoon of December 9, in Thanh Hoa City, AEONMALL Vietnam Co., Ltd. held the groundbreaking ceremony for the 8th Shopping Center project in Vietnam - "AEON MALL Thanh Hoa", with the goal of opening in the second half of 2026.

Representatives of Japanese agencies and contractors, partners of the investor and project, and businesses in the province attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
On behalf of the Japanese agencies, there was Mr. Ishikawa Isamu, Deputy Head of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam. On behalf of the investor, there was Mr. Isobe Daisuke, Director, General Manager of the foreign business division of AEON MALL Co., Ltd.; Mr. Nakagawa Tetsuyuki, General Director of AEONMALL Vietnam Co., Ltd.
Also attending the groundbreaking ceremony were representatives of the contractor, partners of the investor and project, and businesses in the province.
Perspective of AEON MALL Thanh Hoa Shopping Center
AEON MALL Thanh Hoa Commercial Center Project has a total investment capital of 4,157 billion VND, an area of 10.5 hectares and a construction floor area of 120,000 m2 , and a rental area of 52,000 m2 . Phase 1 of the project includes a 5-storey commercial center and 1 basement. This is the project with the largest land use scale among the projects that AEONMALL Vietnam Co., Ltd. has invested in Vietnam, with a modern, multi-functional comprehensive commercial service center, including a complex of stores, service areas; halls, meeting rooms, offices for rent, food services, children's entertainment, sales booths, supermarkets...

AEON MALL Thanh Hoa Commercial Center Project is located in a large-scale developing residential area in the South of Thanh Hoa City; at the same time, it is located on the belt road surrounding the urban area, so it is not only convenient for customers living in the city center, but people from neighboring areas can also easily visit and experience.
The project was started as a result of careful preparation and research by the investor; the attention and support of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam; the efforts of the sectors and levels in the province and the consensus and support of the local people. The investor strives to complete the project in the second half of 2026.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Isobe Daisuke, Director, General Manager of Overseas Business Division of AEON MALL Co., Ltd., said: AEON MALL Thanh Hoa Commercial Center Project was started in November 2021 when AEON MALL Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding on project investment with Thanh Hoa province. Last November, the company was granted a land use rights certificate, construction permit and actively prepared related procedures to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of the project. As a specialized shopping mall developer, AEONMALL Vietnam Company wishes to build a modern shopping mall, contributing to improving the quality of local infrastructure as well as creating a new lifestyle for people in Thanh Hoa province.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks for the great cooperation of the relevant parties for this project. The AEON MALL Thanh Hoa Commercial Center project will be built in about 2 years. During the construction period, we request the contractor Hyundai Engineering to focus on management, taking safety as the top priority so that the project can be completed without any incidents.
During the preparation period for the opening, the company will actively increase promotional activities to attract tenants not only from Vietnam but also from Japan and the world, in order to bring satisfaction to the local community. Speaking at the project groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan emphasized: This is an important event, demonstrating the good cooperative relationship and deepening the relationship of "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World" between Vietnam and Japan.
On this important occasion, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan respectfully thanked the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam for its active support and goodwill in cooperation, creating favorable conditions for the investor to carry out the preparation work, so that today the investor has fully met the conditions according to the provisions of Vietnamese law and officially started construction of the project.
He also congratulated and highly appreciated the urgent, responsible and close-coordinated working spirit of AEONMALL Vietnam Co., Ltd. during the project preparation process; at the same time, he commended the Party Committees, authorities, organizations and people of Thanh Hoa City for their efforts, overcoming difficulties, supporting and coordinating well with the authorities in site clearance, meeting the project's progress requirements.
In order for the project to be completed on schedule, safely and with quality assurance, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan requested all sectors and levels, especially the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Construction, Provincial Police, City Party Committee, Thanh Hoa City People's Committee, Party committees, authorities, organizations and local people in the project area to accompany and coordinate well with the investor and contractor to resolve or propose timely solutions to difficulties and problems in the project implementation process with the highest responsibility; ensure good security, order and social safety, create all conditions for the investor to implement the project in the most favorable way, on schedule, complete the project soon, and put the project into effective operation.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Minh Tuan requested AEONMALL Vietnam Co., Ltd. and the general contractor to focus maximum financial resources, mobilize human resources, equipment and the best machinery to implement the construction, ensure the quality of the project, the committed progress and comply with the regulations of Vietnamese law, absolutely ensure labor safety and environmental sanitation, and not let the construction process affect the lives, production and activities of the people in the project area.
