On the afternoon of June 29, in Quang Ngai City, Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper continued to organize the program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen". Quang Ngai is the 13th coastal locality in the country, and Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper organized this program.

Speaking with Dan Viet reporter, a representative of the Organizing Committee of the program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen" currently being implemented in Quang Ngai said that along with visiting and encouraging, the program also carries out many meaningful and practical activities.
Accordingly, it is worth noting that 200 gifts were given to fishermen, worth more than 5 million VND/gift, including: Battery + LED bulb + medicine bag + handbook "Things to know about fishing" + combo box of eagle batteries + specialized rope roll and a shopping voucher worth 1 million VND.
The organization awarded 25 scholarships to students and children of fishermen's families in the province who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies; awarded 1 special scholarship to a student with difficult circumstances and the highest English score; 5 tablets with learning tools to 5 students who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies in the locality.

Talking about the purpose of the Program, the representative of the Organizing Committee expressed that, through what has been and is being implemented in Quang Ngai and will continue to be implemented in the remaining provinces and cities in the country in the coming time, it is a sharing and encouragement with fishermen; contributing to raising fishermen's awareness of law compliance when participating in fishing at sea.
Accordingly, together with the Government, ministries, agencies, units and localities, urgently remove the yellow card for Vietnamese seafood according to the Action Plan issued by the Prime Minister.

Another important meaning of the program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen" is the desire to act as a bridge for the community to join hands to support fishermen to stay at sea with peace of mind, affirm and preserve the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
"After the launching ceremony in April 2023, the program "Lighting up the sea with fishermen" has been held in 12 provinces and cities, including Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ninh Thuan, Phu Yen, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Bac Lieu, Ben Tre, Binh Thuan, Da Nang, Thanh Hoa and Tien Giang.

Accordingly, in 12 provinces and cities, the Program directly visited and presented 2,300 gifts to fishermen, worth more than 10 billion VND; awarded nearly 400 scholarships, worth more than 1 billion VND and many other valuable gifts, such as school supplies, milk, food for fishermen's children who have overcome difficulties to study well.
