Initially, the train will include 5 air-conditioned soft-seat carriages and 1 community activity carriage to serve local cultural and culinary programs, etc. Especially during the opening month, Vietnam Railways Corporation will apply a preferential ticket price of 150,000 VND/ticket; monthly ticket price of 900,000 VND/ticket (monthly tickets purchased at stations only) and a discount of 10 to 50% for passengers who are policy beneficiaries.
Immediately after the information about the ticket sales schedule for the Hue - Da Nang route was posted, it attracted great attention from travel enthusiasts. Because for a long time, the Hue - Da Nang route with the "world's most majestic pass" Hai Van Pass or Lang Co Bay - worthy of being the most beautiful bays on the planet,... has contributed to making this place the most beautiful route in Vietnam.
The Hue - Da Nang railway section is 102km long. Putting these locations into operation will not only contribute to ensuring traffic connections between the two cities of Hue and Da Nang, but also promise to become one of the attractive tourist destinations in the Central region.
"The world's most majestic pass"
Trains passing through the pass with deep abysses below, mountains and forests above, or the silvery sea in the distance,... create a beauty so extraordinary that it makes people's hearts linger. However, that is not all that visitors can discover when setting foot on this special land.
Hai Van Pass, also known as Ai Van Pass (because there used to be a gate at the top of the pass) or May Pass (because the top of the pass is often covered in clouds), is located at an altitude of nearly 500m above sea level with a pass length of 21km, crossing the high mountains of the majestic Truong Son range.
Located on the top of the pass amidst the clouds and strong winds for nearly two centuries is the Hai Van Quan construction with a watchtower, a gate, the door facing Thua Thien Hue has the three words "Hai Van Quan", the door facing Da Nang has the word "Thien ha de nhat hung quan" (this is the inscription given by King Le Thanh Tong when he stopped to admire the scenery here in the 15th century).
The pass carries the breath of history
Talking about the majesty of Hai Van Pass, in the 18th century, Ngo Thi Chi wrote: “This mountain's energy overwhelms the Milky Way, its position swallows the shore, the rocks are rugged and difficult to hold onto, the trees are lush and shady, the waves crash loudly like thunder, the streams flow like water pouring down from the sky.”
With a precarious high terrain, winding and zigzagging pass road along the mountainside, curving like a silk strip across the sky and clouds, hidden between forest trees and mountain rocks, Hai Van Pass is like a magnificent natural painting created by the wonders of nature and the hands of man to the point of harmony. Although the terrain of the pass road is quite dangerous due to high mountains and deep ravines, this place is an ideal place for tourists who love to explore adventure tourism.
Many backpackers still choose to conquer Hai Van Pass by the old road to both experience the adventurous feeling of going through the heart-stopping U-shaped bends and admire the majestic natural scenery.
Climbing Hai Van peak on sunny days, looking north is a panoramic view of rolling hills with white clouds drifting, in the distance is Lap An lagoon, the picturesque fishing village of Lang Co. Looking south, visitors can clearly see the whole view of Da Nang city, Tien Sa Port - Son Tra Peninsula, Cu Lao Cham... and long stretches of golden sand embracing the vast, clear blue water of the sea.
It is even more interesting when running along the pass, the blue sea will always be present in the sight of visitors, sometimes spreading out to the horizon, sometimes very close, murmuring and deep blue... At suitable passes, visitors can stand on the pass and look down at the winding, zigzagging road they have just passed below, looking extremely spectacular.
Located at the foot of Hai Van Pass and 42.5km long, Lang Co Bay has a curved shape like a crescent moon.
Due to the complex terrain, relatively high slope, continuous winding road with many very dangerous bends, since June 2005, when the Hai Van tunnel was completed and put into operation, making traffic between Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang City much more convenient and safer, most vehicles choose to go through the tunnel.
Therefore, the number of people passing through this pass is decreasing, mainly tourists who like to explore nature and experience thrills... With the increasingly upgraded infrastructure system, Hai Van Pass has become a tourist route for domestic and international tourists. Rest stops on the pass have been built, creating conditions for tourists to stop and relax while sightseeing on the pass.
