Strengthening and enhancing the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China

On behalf of the Vietnamese National Assembly, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly welcomed the high-ranking delegation of the Cuban Revolutionary Defense Committee to visit and work in Vietnam.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly expressed his delight at the positive developments in the relationship between the two countries, as demonstrated by direct and online meetings between senior leaders of the Party, State and Government of the two countries, including the recent official visit to Cuba by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, which contributed to further deepening the special relationship between the two countries in general and between the two National Assemblies in particular.

Affirming that Vietnam always pays attention to and follows the situation in Cuba, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man shared about the difficulties and challenges that his comrades and the Cuban people are facing. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man expressed his firm belief that under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban people will soon overcome difficulties, maintain political and social stability, and continue to implement the policy of updating the socio-economic model, which has achieved many results in the past year. Cuba's success creates confidence and inspiration for friendly countries, including Vietnam.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly welcomed and highly appreciated the results and the increasingly close, effective and practical coordination between the two Front organizations, contributing to consolidating and enhancing the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba through the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation for the period 2012 - 2022 and the Cooperation Agreement for the period 2023 - 2028 that the two sides just signed on May 16; and requested the Fronts of the two countries to actively coordinate to effectively implement the signed contents.

Thanking Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to receive the delegation, Chairman of the Cuban Revolutionary Defense Committee Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo said that the specific and practical results achieved during the delegation's working visit will contribute to further consolidating and tightening the special traditional friendship, fraternal solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and mutual trust between the two Parties, States and peoples of Vietnam and Cuba.

According to the Chairman of the Committee for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution, the Cuban people are very impressed with the achievements that Vietnam has made in building and developing a prosperous country. In addition, the two sides can exchange and learn from each other's experiences in many fields.

Informing the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man about the results of the working session between the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Cuban Committee for the Protection of the Revolution during the delegation's visit this time, Mr. Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo said that the two sides had signed a bilateral cooperation agreement for the period 2023 - 2028; believing that the implementation of the contents of the agreement will promote increasingly close and effective cooperation between the two agencies.
