Receiving Politburo member and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla on the afternoon of February 19 at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong suggested that both sides regularly disseminate and educate the younger generations of the two countries about the 65-year tradition of the exemplary relationship founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro Ruz and nurtured by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
At the meeting, President Luong Cuong Welcome Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla to visit Vietnam again, thereby contributing to consolidating and deepening the comradely and brotherly relationship between the two countries; affirming that generations of Vietnamese people always deeply remember and appreciate the selfless support that Cuba has given Vietnam during the difficult moments of the previous struggle for national liberation. Vietnam always closely follows the situation in Cuba, shares the difficulties and expresses confidence that the heroic country of Cuba will overcome all challenges and continue to achieve new victories in the cause of national defense and construction.
The President highly appreciated the positive development of the the special Vietnam-Cuba relationship; pleased that the ministries and branches of both sides have closely coordinated to implement the results of the State visit to Cuba by General Secretary To Lam in September 2024, especially new directions in bilateral cooperation.
The President suggested that the two sides continue to promote the exchange of high-level delegations; regularly discuss and coordinate to effectively implement the agreements reached between the two sides; promote dialogue and cooperation mechanisms between the two countries as well as strengthen cooperation at multilateral forums; and regularly promote and educate the younger generations of the two countries about the 65-year tradition of the exemplary relationship founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro Ruz and cultivated by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla sincerely thanked President Luong Cuong for taking the time to receive him; affirmed that the Party, State and people of Cuba always appreciate the unwavering solidarity and spiritual and material support that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have given to Cuba; affirmed Cuba's determination to deepen economic, trade, investment and other cooperation areas between the two countries in a more and more effective manner commensurate with the special political relationship.
The Cuban Foreign Minister respectfully conveyed the warm greetings of General Raul Castro; First Secretary, President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel and senior Cuban leaders to President Luong Cuong and senior Vietnamese leaders; congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievements; affirmed the desire to continue exchanging experiences and cooperating with Vietnam in all channels and fields, for the development of each country, contributing to peace, stability and cooperation in the region and the world.
President Luong Cuong conveyed his greetings and warm regards to General Raul Castro; First Secretary and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz Canel and other high-ranking Cuban leaders.
