(HNMO) - Children were excited and actively participated in the recycling experience at Hanoi Book Street (19/12 Street, Hoan Kiem District) on the afternoon of May 20.
This is an activity organized by the French Institute in Hanoi in collaboration with the Vietnamese Women's Publishing House, on the occasion of the launch of two book series on environmental protection: "Children protect the green planet" and "Mission to protect forests, climate, and oceans".
The book series “Children Protect the Green Planet” includes 3 books “Rescuing Water Resources”, “Rescuing Seas and Oceans”, “32 Zero Waste Challenges” and the book series “Mission of Protecting Forests, Climate, and Oceans” includes 3 books on the 3 missions of protecting forests, climate, and oceans, published by Vietnam Women's Publishing House.
The two book series not only provide children with general knowledge and the role of forests, oceans, and climate in human life, but also clearly state the current state of deforestation, ocean pollution, and climate change leading to unpredictable consequences, thereby helping children understand their obligations and responsibilities in protecting forests, oceans, climate in particular, and the Earth in general.
The books are written and viewed through the lens of children, making it easy for young readers to understand and remember. Each page also has a question-and-answer section “Did you know?” to provide children with basic knowledge, while also helping them discover and answer their own questions about the environment around them. This is also a book series that parents can read with their children and learn and answer together.
According to the representative of the organizing unit, the implementation of the two book series aims to contribute to raising awareness about the importance of environmental protection, affirming that each person can protect the Earth by doing simple things, such as picking up trash on the beach, not using plastic products, observing and learning about the ecosystem...
Along with reading and learning about the two book series, at the event, the Organizing Committee also guided children on how to use unused items to recycle into useful items in life, contributing to reducing waste.
