100 cooperatives awarded the "Cooperative Star - Coops Award 2025"

On the evening of April 11, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance solemnly held a ceremony to honor 100 outstanding cooperatives and award the "Cooperative Star - Coops Award 2025", celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Attending the ceremony were members of the Party Central Committee: Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the National Steering Committee on Collective Economy Nguyen Chi Dung; Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee Nguyen Thuy Anh; Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Luong Quoc Doan... and 100 typical cooperatives that won the "Cooperative Star - Coop Star Awards 2025".

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance Cao Xuan Thu Van said that the country currently has 33,697 cooperatives, including 22,551 agricultural cooperatives, 11,146 non-agricultural cooperatives (trade, service, industry, handicraft, market, construction, environment...); 142 cooperative unions; 73,065 cooperative groups. The quality of services and products of cooperatives is increasingly innovated and improved; many products combine traditional technology, indigenous knowledge with modern technology.

Many cooperative products meet 3-5 star OCOP standards, organic products..., meeting domestic and international standards. Of the more than 5,300 entities participating in the production of OCOP products nationwide, more than 38% are products from cooperatives. The positive contribution of typical cooperative products and honored cooperatives has made an important contribution to affirming Vietnam's brands and products in the international arena.

With the aim of recognizing and honoring cooperatives with outstanding achievements in production and business development, actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the country, the Ceremony to honor typical cooperatives and award the Cooperative Star Award "CoopStar Awards 2025", contributing to increasing the image and brand recognition of cooperatives in the development process; enhancing the role and position of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance system in collective economic development. In particular, the cooperative model plays an important role in implementing national target programs, such as: One Commune One Product Program (OCOP), digital transformation, value chains of key regional products, etc.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung highly appreciated the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance for successfully organizing a series of events "Action Month for Cooperatives" and "The second ceremony to honor outstanding cooperatives" in response to the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives with the theme "Cooperatives build a better world". At the same time, he congratulated the achievements of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance in recent times and emphasized: The cooperatives honored with the "Cooperative Star" award are clear evidence of the contributions of cooperatives to the cause of building a developed, modern, independent, autonomous and internationally integrated Vietnamese economy.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung suggested that the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance system should focus on improving its capacity and operational efficiency, promoting its core representative role, supporting cooperatives, cooperative unions, and bridging the gap between the Party and the State with the collective economic sector; attracting more cooperatives to become members of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance system; researching, disseminating, and criticizing policies; proposing to improve mechanisms and policies for the development of the collective economy and cooperatives. Cooperatives need to be proactive, self-reliant, and self-reliant in production and business activities; innovate and be creative in thinking and doing, shifting from old production thinking to new economic thinking, in line with the trend of green economy, circular economy, and adaptation to climate change...

For the cooperatives that won the Cooperative Star Award in 2025, they need to continue to be pioneers in cooperation, association, application of advances in science and technology, development of products with high added value and high economic efficiency; continue to build and develop brands, enhance competitiveness in domestic and international markets, and at the same time be important nuclei in the movement to develop collective economy and cooperatives in Vietnam.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung affirmed that the Government will continue to accompany collective economic organizations and cooperatives to remove and resolve obstacles and difficulties, creating motivation for the collective economic sector and cooperatives to "catch up, progress together and rise up" with other economic sectors, contributing more to the cause of national construction and development.

At the ceremony, central delegates, Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, international delegates... performed the opening ceremony of the "Online product market for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas".
