Vietnam has the first luxury travel agency to achieve sustainable tourism certification

Travelife Certified recognizes the sustainability efforts of businesses around the world and sets a new standard for luxury travel, proving that luxury and sustainability are the future.

For the first time in Vietnam, a luxury services corporation, LuxGroup, has been officially honored by Travelife (an international rating and certification system for sustainable development dedicated to businesses operating in the tourism and travel industry) with the Travelife Certified 2025 certificate for sustainable tourism. The award ceremony will officially take place at ITB Berlin 2025 (March 4-6), the world's largest travel fair.

Travelife for Tour Operators program manager, Mr. Naut Lusters, said this is the first high-end travel agency in Vietnam and among the top 500 global travel agencies to achieve this prestigious certification.

“I am delighted to see the growing focus on sustainability in the travel industry. The Travelife Certified certification of Lux Travel DMC, a member of LuxGroup, will certainly inspire many other companies in Vietnam and across Asia to follow this path,” said Mr. Naut Lusters.

According to Travelife representative, Travelife Certified certification not only recognizes the sustainable efforts of businesses around the world but also sets a new standard for luxury tourism, proving that luxury and sustainability are not contradictory but are an inevitable combination of the future of the global tourism industry.

To achieve Travelife Certified, travel agencies must consistently practice sustainability with specific commitments such as: Expanding green tourism initiatives; Minimizing waste, implementing a no-single-use plastic policy; Supporting local communities and implementing fair labor policies; Encouraging responsible travel experiences; Aiming for a “net positive” impact by 2030…

Travelife Certified is the highest standard for sustainable tourism, the highest level of certification for travel companies committed to sustainable development. To achieve this certification, businesses must meet nearly 250 strict criteria on: Environmental protection; Business ethics and human rights; Fair labor; Responsible cooperation with partners; Raising customer awareness of sustainable tourism; This certification is fully consistent with international standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 26000 on Social Responsibility, and is recognized by the United Nations Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria Committee (GSTC).

The Travelife program is supported by more than 35 national tourism associations, including 20 European tourism associations. Since 2012, more than 1,500 travel companies have participated in sustainable tourism training, and more than 500 companies worldwide have achieved Travelife Certified.
