In recent years, the demand for electricity quality and reliability of electricity supply to customers has increased along with the province's policy of developing industrial parks, clusters, commercial and tourist centers, making stable electricity supply difficult.
To overcome this situation, Ninh Binh Power Company has promoted comprehensive digital transformation in all areas, focusing on digitalizing the management and operation of 110 kV substations and distribution grids, contributing to ensuring continuous and stable power supply, serving local socio-economic development and people's daily needs.
Determining the development of smart grids and digital transformation in operation management is an effective solution to increase production efficiency, improve technical operation management indicators, improve the quality of power supply to customers, control daily losses and move towards online loss control. At the same time, using online grid diagrams, monitoring optimal grid operations, applying digital maps to manage power lines and transformers, contributing to determining optimal substation installation locations for residential areas, load management, transformer load balancing over time, applying software to detect abnormalities in customers' electricity usage.
Ninh Binh Power Company has connected SCADA (automatic management system for monitoring and controlling while collecting data) with EVNSCADA software system (software built and developed by Vietnam Electricity Group's telecommunications and information technology company), invested in installing equipment, transmission channels, server systems, HMI workstations at 110kV stations and at the Control Center to monitor operating parameters and remotely control 9/9 110kV transformer stations. In particular, the Ninh Binh Remote Control Center has been approved by the Northern Power System Dispatch Center and the Northern Power Corporation to switch to unmanned operation.
In parallel, Ninh Binh Power Company has built a monitoring and control system for the medium voltage grid throughout the Company, serving the management and operation of the grid in an intuitive and timely manner.
In addition, the Company has gradually modernized the metering system, developed electronic meters with a remote measurement rate of 100% for specialized and upstream customers; reaching 88% for residential customers. The information technology telecommunications network infrastructure with the 1+1 criteria (with backup plans, ready to replace when problems occur) ensures safe and reliable data transmission.
Implementing Resolution No. 68/NQ-HDTV of the EVN Board of Members and Directive No. 2511/CT-EVNNPC of the Corporation, aiming at the goals of "digitalizing information", "digitalizing processes" and "comprehensive digitalization", the Board of Directors of Ninh Binh Power Company has resolutely directed specialized departments to calculate and expand multi-split connections, multi-connection of medium-voltage grids, synchronization on medium-voltage lines, DMS circuits to automate medium-voltage grids with the ability to automatically adjust and change wiring methods, isolate fault points, minimize the number of affected customers, and not cause customer power outages when switching sources or changing methods.
Up to now, the entire Company is operating 92 medium-voltage output lines with 155 reclosers, of which 38 loops can be closed to the grid, reaching a rate of 41%.
In fact, digitalization in the management and operation of 110kV substations and distribution grids in the province has contributed to ensuring stability, continuous power supply, ensuring optimal grid structure, and flexibility in operation. Proactively switching sources, changing wiring methods. Quickly cutting and isolating faulty lines, minimizing time to detect incidents, human resources in the incident handling process and customer outage time. Monitoring voltage at medium voltage busbars at 110kV substations and issuing low or high voltage warnings.
Thereby, helping Ninh Binh Power Company to always be proactive in adjusting the upstream voltage at 110kV substations, maintaining voltage within the optimal operating range, contributing to improving power quality and reducing power loss.
In the coming time, the Company plans to build and put into operation 4 medium voltage lines to meet DMS loop automation, gradually build and develop the power grid in accordance with the project to develop Vietnam's smart grid, gradually modernize the power grid, improve the quality and reliability of power supply.
