Lam Dong announced a model for developing potential products and advantages of mountainous, remote and isolated areas in Dam Rong district.

On December 5, the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province held a ceremony to announce the model of developing potential and advantageous products of mountainous, remote and isolated areas at Hoa Ngan General Store (village 1, Ro Men commune, Dam Rong district). The ceremony took place in coordination with the People's Committee of Dam Rong district, Lam Dong province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Vu Phuong Ngan - Deputy Head of the Trade Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province said that this model is implemented according to Decision No. 1365/QD-BCT dated June 5, 2024 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on approving the project, tasks and budget for 2024 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to implement the Trade Development Program in mountainous, remote and island areas for the period 2021-2025. The goal is to meet quality standards, create a brand for products to participate in the domestic and foreign distribution system.

In 2024, the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province took the lead in implementing the task of building a model to develop potential products in the locality. After surveying stores and businesses in Lam Ha and Dam Rong districts, the Department connected and formed a model at Hoa Ngan store in village 1, Ro Men commune, Dam Rong district.

The model is supported by the Domestic Market Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade.

During the model building process, with support from the Domestic Market Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Lam Dong Department of Industry and Trade invested in facilities for this model, including signs, display shelves and promotional activities.

According to Ms. Ngan, the model currently has more than 30 product codes, including many 3-star OCOP products of Dam Rong district including: Maca, maca essential oil, various types of tea, honey, coffee, wild bitter melon and many other products. This model promises to become a reliable address to promote and introduce potential products of the region and locality.

The representative of the Department of Industry and Trade requested Hoa Ngan store to organize business activities in accordance with regulations, ensure clear product information, fully list prices and serve customers wholeheartedly. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Bui Tien Viet - Head of the Economic Infrastructure Department of Dam Rong district said that currently in Dam Rong district, there are 18 valid 3-star OCOP products. This is an opportunity to promote the products and cultural identity of the people of Dam Rong district, at the same time promote economic and tourism development, and this is also one of the models in the series of activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the district's establishment.

Through this event, Mr. Viet believes that the model will attract a large number of interested consumers to shop, creating conditions for businesses and cooperatives to promote their products more effectively.

Mr. Tran Van Hoa - Owner of Hoa Ngan General Store said that the store is very honored to be selected by the Department of Industry and Trade and the People's Committee of Dam Rong district as a model for developing potential and advantageous products of the locality. Currently, the store is cooperating with more than 20 establishments and enterprises in Lam Dong province to introduce, promote, display and sell key OCOP products. "I hope that the model will spread strongly and widely and become a priority solution in rural economic development, associated with new rural construction. At the same time, it will be a support channel, connecting local products closer to consumers" - Mr. Hoa said.
