Tuoi Tre Online 's source said that on the evening of September 14, Ben Nghe Ward Police (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) invited two men who provided self-balancing electric scooter rental services on Nguyen Hue walking street to work, who appeared in a livestream video clip (live broadcast on Facebook) of a streamer nicknamed IshowSpeed that same evening.

A few hours earlier, social media spread information that a male streamer was "ripped off" while traveling in Ho Chi Minh City.

Specifically, IshowSpeed made a livestream lasting more than 3 hours recording its activities in Ho Chi Minh City.

In the video, this male streamer goes to Nguyen Hue walking street with a lot of fans following him.

Then, IshowSpeed met two men who worked in the business of renting out self-balancing electric scooters.

According to the clip, the middle-aged man quoted the rental price of $100. IshowSpeed paused for a moment, but then signaled to pay.

When the male streamer took the money, the other young man who rented the bike quoted 1 million VND. And IshowSpeed had to pay a total of 1 million VND to the two people who rented the electric balance bike to experience it for a few minutes.

Sadly, at the time the male streamer was "ripped off", there were 169,000 people watching the livestream.

The actions of the two electric car rental people made netizens angry, saying that this "price gouging" makes tourism, the country and people of Vietnam look bad and lose face.

IshowSpeed's real name is Darren Watkins Jr. (19 years old, American). He is known as a YouTuber, streamer and rapper.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online reporter on the evening of September 14, Mr. Le Duc Thanh - Chairman of District 1 People's Committee, said that he had directed Ben Nghe Ward People's Committee to contact streamer IshowSpeed to apologize and refund the money for being "ripped off" when renting an electric balance bike on Nguyen Hue street.
