Vingroup shares continue to increase, returning to the top 1 private enterprise

Specifically, more than 30 million VIC shares were traded through negotiation with a total value of up to VND 1,768 billion, accounting for 35.3% of the total value of negotiated transactions on the HOSE floor.

Of which, 26.1 million VIC shares were transferred at the price of VND59,090/share; 3.8 million shares were transferred at the price of VND56,700/share and 134,000 shares were transferred at the price of VND52,800/share.

In the order matching method, at the end of the session on March 25, VIC shares increased slightly by VND 200/share (0.35%) compared to the reference price, to VND 56,900/share. Liquidity remained at a high level with a trading volume of nearly 8 million units.

Thus, up to now, VIC has increased by about 40% from the 40,400 VND/share area (session 25/2/2025), bringing the market capitalization to nearly 217,000 billion VND (an increase of nearly 36,000 billion VND since the beginning of March 2025), helping Vingroup's shares firmly hold the position of the largest private enterprise on the Vietnamese stock exchange.

The above figure also brings Vingroup close to the top 3 largest listed enterprises in Vietnam, only behind the "big 3" banks: Vietcombank (VCB), BIDV (BID), VietinBank (CTG).

Sharing the same positive trend, VHM shares of Vinhomes JSC extended their increase to the third consecutive session with an increase of 0.39% compared to the reference price to VND51,500/share. VRE shares also increased by 3.39% to VND19,800/share - the highest level since September 2024.

Vingroup stocks are surging at the same time Vinpearl (VPL) is in the process of being listed on HoSE. This company with a charter capital of VND18,000 billion has submitted its application since March 3 and according to regulations, the official results will be available by early April at the latest. If Vinpearl is approved for listing, the Vingroup group will have another "war horse" on the Vietnamese stock exchange.

In addition to the story of Vinpearl's listing, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong has recently been receiving a lot of good news. Most recently, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has approved the investment project to build the sea encroachment section of the Can Gio sea encroachment tourism urban area project in Long Hoa commune and Can Thanh town, invested by Can Gio Tourism Urban Area JSC (a member of Vingroup Corporation).

According to the decision, the project has a sea encroachment area of 1,357 hectares, the leveling area is 906 hectares with an elevation of over 2.90 m (compared to Hon Dau elevation). The total investment is over 64,425 billion VND, implemented until 2031 with the design of leveling, lake embankment, and sea embankment. Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requires the investor and consulting units to fully implement the procedures in accordance with regulations, ensuring environmental protection according to the project's environmental impact assessment report.

Vingroup Corporation is also proposing to build renewable energy projects and LNG thermal power plants with a capacity of 25,500 MW in the 2025 - 2030 period.

The sharp increase in VIC shares also caused Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong's assets to soar. According to an update on Forbes , as of March 24, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's assets reached 7.4 billion USD, ranking 422nd in the list of the world's richest people, as of March 24.

Thus, billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's assets have surpassed the record of 7.3 billion USD recorded in 2021. Compared to the end of last year, the assets of Vingroup Chairman have increased by more than 3 billion USD.
