Stocks tomorrow, March 26: Should we buy Vingroup shares at average price?

At the end of the trading session on March 25, VN-Index closed at 1,331.92 points, up 1.6 points compared to the previous session; HNX Index decreased 1.44 points to 244.56 points.

The market continued to be strongly differentiated with high selling pressure on many stocks after a series of consecutive weeks of increases. Notably, cash flow continued to pour into the stock market at high prices, when trading liquidity on HOSE was over VND22,300 billion. Foreign investors continued to net sell nearly VND400 billion on HOSE.

VN-Index is at its highest level since April 2022. Many stocks such as rubber and electricity are trading positively in anticipation of good business growth; oil and gas and minerals are recovering after a period of sharp price decline. In particular, Vingroup stocks such as VIC, VHM, and VRE continued to close in the green.

VRE shares increased by 3.39% to VND19,800; VHM increased by 0.39% to VND51,500 and VIC increased by 0.35% to VND56,900. From mid-February 2025 to now, Vingroup shares have increased by 20-40%.

However, these prices are still much lower than the price range of VRE, VIC, VHM stocks from September 2023 to present. Many investors who have not "returned" to this group of stocks are wondering whether they should buy more to average the price?

Mr. Nguyen Viet Duc, Director of Digital Business, VPBankS Securities Company, said that a leading stock will often lead the market for a year. For example, since the beginning of the year, when FPT - the leading story last year - declined, the Vingroup group, such as VIC, VHM, VRE and some banking stocks became new pillars. When a stock is leading, it can maintain its growth momentum for the whole year.

The stock market closed in the green, although the increase slowed down at the end of today's session.

"If investors are afraid of the possibility of stocks correcting after a strong increase, they can sell a part of it, instead of selling the whole thing. At this stage, when the market is led by a few stocks, investors often choose to sell good stocks and buy less good stocks. If they have determined the long-term story of the market, they should hold stocks that are leading the trend. Because when stocks have decreased, it is not known where the bottom is, and when stocks have increased, it is not known where the top is" - Mr. Viet Duc expressed his opinion.

Commenting on the market tomorrow, March 26, SHS Securities Company believes that this is not an attractive price range to increase investment proportion, especially when VN-Index has had a good price increase period from 1,220 points to the price range around 1,350 points. If buying, it is necessary to prioritize focusing on stocks with good fundamentals, with expected business growth results in industries such as livestock, banking, securities, rubber, industrial parks, etc.

Vietnam Construction Securities Company (CSI) assessed that the market is lacking motivation and consensus among industry groups. Investors need to patiently wait for a strong increase with large liquidity to confirm overcoming the resistance level of 1,340 points.
