From February 24 to 26, 2025, in Guwahati City, Assam State, India, the "2nd Advantage Assam - Infrastructure and Investment Summit" took place.
This is the largest event of the Assam state government to promote investment and business cooperation between enterprises within and outside India, with the participation of many large business representatives, investors and senior leaders from both India and internationally.
The event is also an important opportunity for Vietnam to exploit the potential for cooperation with the northeastern regions of India, especially in the context of increasingly strong relations between the two countries.
In his inaugural address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Assam’s contribution to India’s growth has been steadily increasing over the years. In 2018, when the first Advantage Assam summit was held, the state’s economy was worth ₹3.25 lakh crore (about $30 billion) and has now grown to ₹6 lakh crore (nearly $60 billion). This shows that under the leadership of the BJP, Assam’s economy has doubled in just six years. The state has now become a key player in the Northeastern region of India.
