From September 1-2, at October 30 Square and Sun Carnival Square (Bai Chay Ward), Ha Long City (Quang Ninh), the first Hot Air Balloon Festival with the theme "Heritage City - Colors of Ha Long" in 2024 will take place.

The activity attracts thousands of people and tourists to come and experience.
On the morning of September 1, the art performance using a hot air balloon carrying the sacred national flag (100 square meters wide) flying over October 30 Square to celebrate the nation's National Day on September 2 officially opened the Festival.
The image of the proud national flag flying over the Square symbolizes national pride and the happiness of every participant.
This is an event to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; 30 years since Ha Long Bay was first recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage (December 1994).
The first hot air balloon festival was organized by Ha Long city with the aim of realizing the project "Ha Long - Festival City", creating many attractive tourism products in the city to attract tourists, at the same time widely promoting the image of the heritage and cultural city and the people of Ha Long to a large number of people, domestic and international tourists, creating a ripple effect for the next festivals.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son, Vice Chairman of Ha Long City People's Committee, said that at the festival, there were 20 hot air balloons of different colors and sizes participating in the display and experience.
Within the framework of the festival, there will be many diverse activities such as hot air balloon flying, visiting inside hot air balloons, hot air balloon lantern night, hot air balloon ground decoration and paramotor flying performance.
Through the festival, the city hopes to bring to the people and visitors impressive experiences, interesting and unforgettable feelings when admiring from above the beautiful and majestic space and landscape of Ha Long City and Ha Long Bay; immersing in the vibrant and exciting space of the night of lanterns and hot air balloon light shows and enjoying exciting and attractive music and art parties.
Mr. Son emphasized that visitors from all over the world when coming to the Festival also have the opportunity to experience, explore, and learn about the unique cultural features of Ha Long, enjoy seafood dishes with the unique flavors of Ha Long and visit and experience high-class services at famous tourist areas and spots of the beautiful Ha Long city.
Besides, the Festival is also a bridge to connect and promote tourism values, bringing rich, attractive and unique tourism images and products of Ha Long City to domestic and international friends.
Coming from Vinh city, Nghe An province to attend the festival, Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang felt very lucky that her family traveled to Quang Ninh this holiday and was able to participate in the festival. This event made the family's holiday more meaningful, especially since the children got to experience flying with a hot air balloon for free.
During the holiday, in Ha Long city in particular and Quang Ninh province in general, many cultural and sports events take place simultaneously, which helps tourists from all over the world when coming to Quang Ninh have interesting experiences and discoveries.
These events will be a bridge to promote tourism values, bringing rich, attractive and unique images and tourism products of Quang Ninh to domestic and international friends.
