Historic ticket On August 31, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) received an official confirmation email from the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) that Vietnam is the last team to win a ticket to the 2025 FIVB World Championship - a tournament considered the World Cup of volleyball. This is a historic ticket for Vietnamese volleyball in general and Vietnamese women's volleyball in particular. After participating twice in the FIVB Challenge Cup of women's volleyball in the world in 2023 and 2024, the Vietnamese girls have another milestone in the international arena. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in the world championship for the first time after participating in the FIVB Challenger Cup twice. This is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world for women's volleyball, along with the Volleyball Nations League. Next year, the tournament will have 32 competing teams. In addition to the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, the remaining participating teams are Serbia, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Kenya, Egypt, Cameroon, Thailand, China, Japan, Turkey, the Netherlands, Italy, the Dominican Republic, the United States, Canada, Poland, Germany, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, France, Cuba, Bulgaria, Sweden, Mexico, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain and Greece. Opportunity to compete According to the latest update on the FIVB rankings, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is ranked 33rd in the world. When participating in the 2025 World Championship, thinking about achievements is impossible for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team. However, having a place in this arena will help the girls of Vietnamese volleyball meet top opponents and learn at the most prestigious playground for women's volleyball in the world. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet once shared: "Only by competing with stronger teams in terms of level, both domestic and international, will our players learn many things. There was an opinion that players can be stunted when they are not mentally stable before competing, but I think that is not true. Players compete and gain experience, plus the adjustments of the coaching staff, to accumulate for themselves the things they are lacking". Volleyball is a direct competition sport. Therefore, through each tournament, facing many opponents at different levels of expertise will help Vietnamese players gradually gain experience for themselves. According to the plan, after the end of VTV Cup 2024 (August 31), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will finish its mission this year and complete professional concentration. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will end their professional training in 2024 after the VTV Cup. Next year, he and his students will participate in as many tournaments as in 2023, including the 3 most important tournaments: SEA Games 33, the World Championship in Thailand and the Asian Women's Championship. With this schedule, it is likely that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will gather early to have thorough professional preparation, ready to aim for specific goals next year.
