Bui Hoang Yen Nhi (22 years old), from Thanh Hoa province, graduated with honors in marketing communications from the National Economics University (Hanoi) with a GPA of 3.9/4.0 and a transcript of 45 subjects with A grades. While studying at Lam Son High School for the Gifted (Thanh Hoa province), Nhi joined the media club to write news articles for school activities. From there, Nhi realized her passion for content creation and media. After the high school graduation exam, Nhi decided to choose the marketing communications major at the National Economics University as her first choice.
“At that time, my parents wanted me to pursue traditional fields like law or English teaching because marketing communications was still quite new. However, I convinced my parents to support me in pursuing the career I loved,” Nhi shared.
From the first days of entering the university, Yen Nhi was aware of the importance of studying, so she tried to adapt to the new environment. In the first semester, Nhi achieved the highest average score in the class and received the school's scholarship for excellent study. Prioritizing studying and having a clear plan, Nhi received the school's scholarship for students with excellent achievements in the following 6 semesters.
“Diligence is very important. I try to go to school regularly. In class, I listen directly to the lectures from the teachers, take careful notes, and interact with the lecturers regularly. Thanks to that, I can grasp the knowledge, save time reviewing lessons at home, and study for exams is easier,” Nhi said.
In addition to studying, Yen Nhi also spent time working for a marketing communications company since her second year of university. This job gave her many valuable experiences, learning practical knowledge about new trends in the industry, finding her own strengths and weaknesses, thereby improving her communication skills, teamwork, and social behavior.
“I use the knowledge and experience I gain from working part-time at the company to apply to my school subjects. This helps me study well and get high scores in my major subjects,” Nhi said.
The most difficult period for Nhi was in her final year when she had to complete her graduation thesis, participate in scientific research activities, intern at a business, and apply for a scholarship to study abroad.
“I was very stressed and pressured. I had to try to arrange my schedule and make detailed plans to complete everything well and on time. The support and encouragement from my family, friends and teachers became the support that helped me overcome that difficult period,” Nhi said.
In addition to studying with an impressive GPA, Nhi also regularly participates in competitions and extracurricular activities. In her final year at school, Yen Nhi participated in a scientific research competition with the topic "The impact of online service space of banking applications on customer engagement", winning third prize at the school level. Nhi also received a certificate of merit "Student with outstanding achievements in Association work and student movement for the term 2021 - 2022" from the Student Association of the National Economics University.

Thanks to her solid English foundation, active participation in extracurricular activities while still in school, and a good essay, Yen Nhi received a scholarship for a master's degree in marketing analysis from the University of Southampton (UK). This September, Nhi will leave her family to begin her journey of knowledge in the UK.
