After 7pm, Ms. Thanh quickly poured milk to fill half of a hot earthenware pot (also known as a tong nung) imported from Yunnan (China). Then, she continued to add other ingredients such as rock sugar, tea, and herbs such as chrysanthemum, mulberry, butterfly pea, red apple, etc. to make a super "hot trend" milk tea.

In a moment, the teapot gave off a faint aroma. In front of the shop, customers had already filled four rows of plastic chairs that had been arranged in advance. The staff had to guide new customers to move to the ground floor to wait their turn. The shop had 3-4 employees, taking turns making tea and serving customers so they could serve them on time.
Wait 20-30 minutes to enjoy the exotic drink
"Each portion of clay milk tea takes 8 minutes to cook. When the shop is crowded, many people have to wait 20-30 minutes for their turn, and have to find their own chairs. I feel sorry for the customers, but there is no other way because it is too crowded. Luckily, people are understanding and willing to wait," Ms. Thanh confided.

Ms. Thanh's milk tea shop is located on 3/2 Street (Ward 6, District 11, HCMC). Although it opens at 3 p.m., customers come early to avoid long waiting times. Ms. Thanh usually plans to close the shop at 10 p.m., but by 9 p.m., it's sold out.
Having just started her unique and super "hot" milk tea business for about a week, Ms. Bui Thi Phuong Thanh (35 years old, living in District 11) said that her shop has been crowded with customers since the first days of opening.
Every day, she can sell about 200 clay milk tea pots, priced at 35,000 VND/pot. From there, the revenue can be up to 7 million VND/day.

The shop owner shared that her shop was the first place in Ho Chi Minh City to sell milk tea baked in clay pots imported from Yunnan. At first, when no one was selling, these pots were very expensive, up to 300,000 VND/pot. Ms. Thanh "bit the bullet" and imported about 40 pots to serve customers.
This type of milk tea is famous in Yunnan, and is made with gas stoves, charcoal stoves, or electric stoves. Thanh’s shop has 14 different herbs, which are boiled with about 500ml of tea and fresh milk. Initially, Thanh used milk imported directly from Yunnan, but due to the high cost, she switched to using milk from Vietnam.
In addition, being of Chinese descent, Ms. Thanh has been exposed to and knowledgeable about herbs since she was young. When opening her business, choosing ingredients was not difficult for her.

"These clay pots retain heat very well. When heated, the tea, sugar and herbs will melt and blend together to create a pleasant aroma. For customers who like to drink cold, the shop will provide a cup of ice to pour the tea into and drink with it," the owner described.
The owner loves traveling and starting a business.
Ms. Thanh said that she herself is someone who likes to travel abroad. Up to now, the milk tea shop owner cannot remember the number of countries she has visited.
"Every time I travel, I will find out what is interesting and delicious in the country I visit to research and bring back to Vietnam to sell. Durian imported from Malaysia, squid and terracotta milk tea from Taiwan are the products I started from my travels. Besides durian, the other two products I started were very successful," Ms. Thanh said with a smile.
In addition to the terracotta milk tea shop, she is also the owner of a squid and snail restaurant. Thanks to her diligence and hard work, Ms. Thanh has been single-handedly managing the restaurant for the past 7 years. It is known that the restaurant's revenue can peak at 20 million VND/night.

At first, Ms. Thanh encountered many difficulties in starting a business due to lack of experience. She took care of everything by herself and did not want to bother her family, so she was the only one who understood most of the hardships.
For Ms. Thanh, if she perseveres with her entrepreneurial journey, all difficulties will pass and she can achieve the results she desires. Besides, entrepreneurs must truly love, spend time researching and investing in the field they choose to hope to go the long way.
