On September 12, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave its opinion on the National Assembly's petition work in August 2024. Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Duong Thanh Binh, Head of the Petition Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee, said that voters expressed their agreement with the Program to support compatriots affected by storm No. 3 launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and considered this an activity that demonstrates the fine tradition of mutual love of the Vietnamese people, providing practical spiritual and material support, contributing to the rapid restoration of production and stabilization of the lives of people in flood-affected areas.
Voters highly appreciated the results of the 8th Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly, the 6th Conference of Full-time National Assembly Deputies, and the questioning activities of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the implementation of resolutions on thematic supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly's term to the end of 2023.
This is the first time in the term of the 15th National Assembly that the National Assembly Standing Committee has carried out the activity of “re-supervision”, demonstrating the responsibility of the National Assembly Standing Committee in supervising to the end the implementation of the requests and recommendations of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee; comprehensively assessing and clarifying the difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process so that timely solutions can be found and the responsibilities of the agencies under supervision can be further enhanced. At the same time, it also demonstrates the companionship of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee with the Government in implementing and carrying out the requirements set out in the resolutions on thematic supervision and questioning.
However, voters and people are concerned that recently child abuse continues to occur in many localities such as Gia Lai, Hung Yen, Phu Tho and especially the child abuse case at the Rose Shelter in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City; about the performance images with the appearance of inappropriate symbols of some artists when performing abroad.
The Petition Committee and the National Assembly Standing Committee requested the Government to direct ministries, branches and localities to concentrate forces, means and measures in searching, rescuing and saving missing and isolated people; ensure essential necessities reach people; direct procurement and reserve to respond to emergencies; organize campaigns, donations and provide practical and effective assistance; urgently overcome the consequences of storm No.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Security strictly handles acts of child abuse and promptly brings cases related to child abuse to trial. The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs strengthens inspection, examination and review of child care and nurturing facilities.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will verify and clarify information about artists taking photos and filming clips with images of the old regime's flag and strictly handle any violations.
Propose to direct the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Committees of Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Soc Trang, and Thai Nguyen provinces to urgently review and thoroughly resolve mass complaints and denunciations, especially newly arising cases.
For the 7 cases showing signs of complications in security and order, it is recommended that the People's Committees of Hai Phong and Can Tho cities and the People's Committees of Ha Tinh, Nam Dinh and Binh Duong provinces be directed to organize meetings and dialogues with citizens, issue settlement documents (if they still have authority) or organize reviews and re-reviews if there is a basis to completely resolve the case.
