Due to the impact of storm No. 3, the province has had very heavy rain, the river water level has risen, causing many losses in human lives and property. Up to now, some localities have completely receded, however, there are still flooded areas, some places have been isolated for many days.

Leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam province presented money to support Phu Tho province to overcome damage caused by storm No. 3.

Faced with that situation, Party committees and authorities at all levels, along with functional forces and kind-hearted people from all over the country joined hands to ensure relief work for people in flood-hit areas.

According to preliminary statistics from the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue (PCTT&TKCN), as of September 12, floods have killed 1 person, injured 7 people and left 8 people missing. 417 houses were damaged, of which 6 were completely damaged. Over 7,000 households had to be urgently evacuated due to flooding and landslides. Over 4,700 hectares of rice and nearly 1,700 hectares of crops were flooded and collapsed. Many infrastructures for irrigation, dykes, traffic, electricity, schools, health care... and houses and properties of the people in the province were damaged. Many roads were flooded and landslides damaged the traffic system and irrigation canals.

Youth Union members combined with functional forces to use small boats to deliver relief goods to people in Zone 10, Ha Hoa town.

Faced with this situation, millions of people across the country have turned to their homeland with practical and meaningful actions. Up to now, the Phu Tho Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee has received over 40 billion VND in support through the Provincial Relief Fund from localities, units, organizations and individuals.

The Provincial Relief Fund Mobilization Committee will use the donated funds for the right purposes and effectively; allocate them promptly, reasonably, publicly and transparently in accordance with the law, ensuring that people in areas affected by natural disasters are provided with safe shelters and supported to overcome initial difficulties and gradually stabilize their lives after the floods.

People of Ha Hoa district receive relief goods from the Vietnam Red Cross Society

Joining hands to carry out relief work, the Provincial Red Cross Society visited and supported families affected by floods, and connected, mobilized and supported over 120 volunteer groups and delegations to directly provide human and material assistance in Ha Hoa, Thanh Ba, Cam Khe and Phu Ninh districts with a total value of nearly 3 billion VND.

Ha Hoa district is a locality in the province that has been heavily affected by the unprecedented flood in history. Although the water level of Thao river has receded, the communes of Hien Luong, Dan Thuong, Tu Hiep and some residential areas of Ha Hoa town are still deeply flooded.

To ensure people's lives, Ha Hoa district has established 20 more relief points with about 500 vehicles participating in transportation. The district is also making efforts to use many different means of transportation to distribute relief goods to people.

In Hien Luong commune, there are still over 600 isolated households, these households have been deeply flooded for the past few days and the ability to receive relief goods may be extended for another 9-10 days depending on the water situation. The commune has used canoes and small boats to shorten the time to access and fully distribute relief goods to the people, ensuring that 100% of isolated households are fully provided with food, drinking water, medicine and essential necessities to maintain life.

Comrade Le Dang Hung - Chairman of Hien Luong Commune People's Committee said: In recent days, local authorities have focused all their efforts on flood and storm prevention and control, taking care of the lives of people in flooded and isolated areas. The support and assistance of units, organizations and individuals has helped Hien Luong people overcome initial difficulties and gradually stabilize their lives after the flood.

As of September 12, the Ha Hoa District Relief Committee has received over VND240 million in cash; over 62 tons of rice, over 5,000 boxes of instant noodles, over 4,000 boxes of filtered water, 4,000 boxes of milk; 360 life jackets, 1,000 sets of medicine... and many other necessities and relief supplies to help people overcome the consequences of flooding.

Comrade Do Thi Phong - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Hoa district said: In parallel with receiving support from units, organizations and individuals from all over, the District Relief Committee coordinated with the district's functional departments to review the level of damage in localities, grasp the needs of the people and preside over the allocation of necessary items in a reasonable and scientific manner.

The joint efforts and contributions of the entire political system and the generosity of the people across the country will help people in flooded areas overcome natural disasters and stabilize their lives. In order for relief work to be effective and to make good use of resources to help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters, it is necessary to do a good job of managing relief activities, ensuring the reception and coordination of contributed resources in a reasonable and scientific manner, promoting the humanity and nobility of relief activities.
