Reporting to local leaders, the project investor representative - Mr. Vu Manh Hung said that the project "DHN Gia Lai High-Tech Livestock Farm Area" has a total investment capital of nearly 1,000 billion VND, with a total land area of 53 hectares. Specifically, the project invests in the construction of construction items including: Main barn area; auxiliary area; environmental protection works and technical infrastructure. Currently, the construction progress has reached 60% of the workload. The project is expected to be completed and put into use in December 2024.
According to Mr. Vu Manh Hung, the project previously encountered some difficulties during the implementation process, causing the implementation time to be longer than expected. However, after receiving attention from the relevant departments and localities, the project has completed legal procedures for construction to officially start construction on May 10, 2024.

In addition to the farm project, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hieu, Director of External Relations of De Heus Vietnam Co., Ltd. also shared about the plan of the De Heus - Hung Nhon joint venture to invest in a research project, developing a raw material area for producing standard animal feed associated with a new cooperative model in the Central Highlands region, including Gia Lai province.
Mr. Hieu said that the development of corn growing areas is not only to provide raw materials for the domestic animal feed processing industry, but also to contribute to the implementation of the sustainable livestock development strategy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, thereby enhancing food security and reducing dependence on imported animal feed materials. The development of corn growing areas is even more meaningful in the context of increasing domestic and global demand.
"Gia Lai, with its large agricultural land area and favorable climate, is considered an ideal place for growing animal feed crops to serve this strategy. In the immediate future, we will coordinate with the Dutch Cooperative Development Organization (Agriterra) to build a raw corn growing area based on the development of cooperatives in the three provinces of Dak Lak, Gia Lai and Kon Tum," Mr. Hieu informed, and at the same time stated that the combination of these projects will maximize the land's strengths and contribute to the socio-economic development of Gia Lai province.
The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that the project is not simply a pig breeding and breeding farm project but also contributes to promoting the overall development of the province's agricultural sector. Photo: MH
Evaluating the project, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Rah Lan Chung said that DHN Gia Lai High-Tech Livestock Farm has a unique nature, not simply a project for raising and producing breeding pigs. The project's objectives will contribute to promoting the overall development of the local agricultural sector, towards building a value chain and disease-free livestock farming areas in Gia Lai and neighboring areas.
"In particular, the project contributes to creating more jobs for local people and connecting society to improve the quality of life of local people, which is a model of modern livestock farming that is sustainable, effective and environmentally friendly," said a representative of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee.
It is known that, besides the project in Gia Lai, this investor has put into operation the DHN Dak Lak High-Tech Agricultural Complex project (area of 200 hectares), with a total investment of 66 million USD (about 1,500 billion VND).
This is the first high-tech agricultural project complex in the DHN high-tech agricultural complex project series jointly implemented by De Heus Group and Hung Nhon Group in the Central Highlands provinces. In Lam Dong province, the De Heus - Hung Nhon joint venture also has 3 chicken farming projects with a total scale of 30 hectares and a total investment of nearly 350 billion VND.
Once completed, the DHN project chain will turn the Central Highlands into a disease-free livestock farming area, producing high-quality agricultural products in a closed chain. It is estimated that the revenue of DHN projects in the Central Highlands will reach about 2 billion USD by 2030.
Leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee presented gifts to workers working at the project.
Mr. Vu Manh Hung proudly said: "The DHN joint venture is also a highlight for the friendly relationship between Vietnam and the Netherlands. In 2022, when the two groups signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic investment cooperation in the Netherlands, it was witnessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands. In particular, the project chain will contribute to shaping the Central Highlands into a center for supplying breeding pigs and developing high-tech livestock models in Vietnam and Asia."
According to Mr. Vu Manh Hung, the strength of the DHN project chain is the application of 100% high technology according to international standards of the Netherlands; using grid-connected solar power systems, using 30% clean electricity, reducing a large amount of CO2 emissions. The project applies environmentally friendly measures, saving energy in organic farming and livestock farming, meeting the standards and technical regulations of Vietnam and specialized international organizations.
