Hung Nhon Group and Olmix Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement witnessed by leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and De Heus Group.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hung Nhon Group, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association, said that the purpose of this cooperation is that the parties, with their strengths, will jointly implement a cooperation plan, develop and link the production and supply chain of agricultural products meeting Halal standards for export to Muslim countries.

Accordingly, Hung Nhon will join other members in the chain to invest and develop high-tech, high-value projects, thereby expanding the production chain and supplying poultry products (breeding stock and commercial products) that meet Halal standards.

According to Mr. Vu Manh Hung, to realize this chain model, recently Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Group (Netherlands) have been implementing a series of high-tech agricultural investment projects in the Central Highlands provinces, especially a chain of large-scale livestock projects in Tay Ninh.

Specifically, in the period of 2023-2030, the DHN joint venture (Hung Nhon, De Heus) has agreed to invest in 12 high-tech agricultural projects in Tay Ninh with a total investment of nearly 10,000 billion VND. The goal by 2030 is that DHN's livestock chain will reach a capacity of about 37,500 great-grandfather and great-grandfather pigs, commercial sows in the Central Highlands, Southeast, and South Central regions; 83 million breeding chickens and broilers for export in Tay Ninh. The total revenue of the chain is expected to reach 2 billion USD per year.

Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hung Nhon Group, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association spoke at the signing ceremony.

“The cooperation with large foreign enterprises has helped us clearly shape the livestock development strategy towards reducing antibiotic residues; providing quality products, expanding joint projects and building a disease-safe chain in the Southeast provinces according to the standards of the World Organization for Animal Health” – Mr. Hung shared.

Talking about the decision to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with Olmix, Mr. Vu Manh Hung said: Olmix is a business specializing in the production and exclusive distribution of veterinary medicine, aquaculture, and animal feed additives products of many famous global brands, belonging to leading corporations such as: Olmix, Boehringer Ingelheim, Dopharma, Biopharm...

“The products distributed by Olmix are optimal solutions such as high-tech vaccines, supplements, drugs to prevent and treat internal and external parasites, vaccination services... Through the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement, Hung Nhon and Olmix will together find effective solutions to reduce antibiotic residues in livestock products, demonstrating the determination and commitment of Hung Nhon Group to the agricultural sector in promoting the export of livestock products,” said Mr. Vu Manh Hung.

Mr. Gabor Fluit - General Director of Asia De Heus Group said that to promote the export of livestock products, it is necessary to reduce the use of antibiotics and establish disease-free livestock farming areas.

Present at the signing ceremony, Mr. Gabor Fluit - General Director of Asia De Heus Group affirmed that, in the current trend of the Vietnamese and global markets, to provide clean and safe products to consumers, it is imperative to reduce antibiotics. This is also reflected in the strategy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with a very clear goal of gradually reducing antibiotics.

Mr. Gabor revealed: In the past two years, De Heus has implemented a model of not using antibiotics at an experimental farm in Long An with a scale of 265,000 chickens. In fact, although we do not use antibiotics at all, the chickens still grow well, meeting growth and meat quality standards for export.

“To do that, I think it is necessary to promote the use of vaccines to reduce antibiotics in livestock farming. The De Heus and Hung Nhon livestock farming chains really need the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, related sectors as well as partners in the field of vaccines and veterinary medicine to complete the disease-free livestock farming area according to the standards of the World Organization for Animal Health, in order to soon export products,” Mr. Gabor emphasized.

Mr. Robert Clapham, General Director of Olmix Group (France).

On Olmix’s side, Mr. Robert Clapham, General Director of the Group from France, said that Hung Nhon has been cooperating to build and develop a high-value livestock chain, applying high technology in production, thereby developing high-quality pig and poultry farming projects that meet Halal standards. This model is consistent with Olmix’s development strategy.

In fact, in the past, Olmix Vietnam has provided Hung Nhon with many chicken vaccine products, such as Boehringer Ingelheim (BI). “This is an effective solution in preventing poultry diseases, reducing the use of antibiotics in livestock farming, helping to limit antibiotic residues in chicken meat and eggs, ensuring food safety. In addition, Olmix Vietnam also provides Hung Nhon with many of the most modern veterinary technical services today, such as: Veterinary diagnosis and testing from Vipha.Lab; screening and health check of parent chicken flocks, broiler farms, commercial egg-laying farms…” – said Mr. Robert Clapham.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said that strategic cooperation between large corporations is in line with the general trend of the world, which is green economy and circular economy.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said that the export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products this year is expected to reach 62 billion USD, however, by the end of October, the export turnover of livestock only reached 424 million USD, an increase of 2.7%. We have a herd of about 30 million pigs; a herd of 562.8 million poultry. However, livestock farming only revolves around a market of 100 million people, so in order to effectively exploit the potential of the industry, we must focus more on exports.

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. The choice of partners with the long-term vision of De Heus, Hung Nhon, Olmix is in line with the general trend of the world, which is green economy, circular economy. We are very happy and proud to have large corporations leading the way, with many good initiatives to promote sustainable production chains, shaping the future of livestock farming,” said Mr. Tien.

Deputy Minister Tien also affirmed that with the attention of the Party and State, we have built a sustainable ecosystem in the agricultural sector with the components of enterprises, cooperatives, and farmers.

Mr. Vu Manh Hung (left), Mr. Robert Clapham (middle) and Mr. Gabor Fluit discussed on the sidelines of the MoU signing ceremony the prospects of cooperation.

“In the context of the livestock and aquaculture industry in our country facing many difficulties, limitations, and lack of facilities, high-tech, chain-based livestock models of enterprises such as De Heus and Hung Nhon are contributing to creating momentum for the industry.

The State creates a “stage”, businesses take the lead together, compete, and in the end, farmers benefit. We propose that the “big guys” in the livestock industry sit together, cooperate, and lead the implementation of a green economy, contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions according to the Government’s commitment. After the signing ceremony, there must be an action program with real results, bringing high-quality poultry products to the world for export, first of all to the Halal market” – Mr. Tien suggested.

At the same time, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien also affirmed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development always supports and accompanies businesses, creating favorable policies and mechanisms in a more drastic and comprehensive direction so that businesses can continue to develop.
