Play pickleball, bring smiles to children

From March 21 to 23, at the Van Minh pickleball court cluster (Dong Hoi city), the Van Minh pickleball tournament 2025 took place. The tournament gathered nearly 300 amateur athletes from Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue city and host Quang Binh to participate in the following events: women's doubles level 4.1, mixed doubles level 4.6, men's doubles level 5.1, men's doubles level 5.5.

Notably, the 2025 Pickleball Civilization Tournament also has a profound humanitarian meaning when the Organizing Committee will allocate 50,000 VND/athlete from the athletes' contributions to the Operation Smile fund to support surgery costs for children with cleft lip and cleft palate.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Thang, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Pickleball Civilization Tournament, said that the organizing committee does not focus on profit but wants to bring smiles to the less fortunate.

"Each registration is a smile spread, a beautiful story written. Because in this life, the most valuable thing is not what we keep for ourselves but what we can give away," said Mr. Thang.

According to Mr. Thang, the funding source has been agreed to focus on performing surgeries in the Central region, especially Quang Binh and Quang Tri, where many children with cleft lips and cleft palates need help.
