On March 25, Mr. Huynh Van Hung - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Tra District, Da Nang City - said that he had issued a document announcing the termination of Son Tra night market operations in An Hai Tay Ward from July 1.

Accordingly, based on the contract signed with DHTC Da Nang Joint Stock Company, from July 1, Son Tra night market on Mai Hac De and Ly Nam De streets (located near the Dragon Bridge) will cease operations.

"We will stop operating in July, but we will notify early so that businesses and small businesses have time to prepare and avoid surprises," said Mr. Hung.

According to the notice, Son Tra district requested DHTC Da Nang Joint Stock Company to carry out financial procedures in accordance with the signed contract.

At the same time, fulfill the obligation to pay late payment fines for using the road and sidewalk at Son Tra night market according to regulations.

Currently, Son Tra District People's Committee is surveying other locations to organize Son Tra night market activities in the next phase.

Including locations on routes near Son Tra District People's Committee, convenient for entertainment, recreation, and dining activities while still ensuring traffic safety.

In recent times, Son Tra night market has become an attractive destination for locals and tourists to Da Nang.

However, due to its location near the Dragon Bridge intersection, it is difficult to get around at times, especially on weekends and holidays...

Recently, the People's Committee of Hai Chau district announced a plan to pilot the Bach Dang walking street, with the expectation that this will be a new tourism product, attracting visitors to Da Nang in the evening.

The walking street on Bach Dang Street is 1.2km long and will connect with Nguyen Van Troi Bridge (more than 500m long connecting Son Tra District and Hai Chau District).

When does Bach Dang walking street open?

Currently, Hai Chau District People's Committee is speeding up the progress to implement the Bach Dang walking street project. The leaders of Da Nang City People's Committee have also assigned Son Tra District and Hai Chau District to implement pilot plans to organize activities on Bach Dang walking street connecting with Nguyen Van Troi Bridge. Ensure to put into operation no later than the end of April 2024.
