According to CNN, in the early morning of May 14 (Vietnam time), the American intelligence company OpenAI launched a new artificial intelligence (AI) model called GPT-4o, capable of interacting through text and images, and conversing by voice.
The highlight of GPT-4o is that the interactive interface is much more natural and easier to use than the GPT-4 model. The new version of ChatGPT is able to remember the context of the conversation, learn from previous interactions with the user, and translate multiple languages in real time.
According to technology experts, this update of OpenAI marks the leading strategy in the AI war when other competitors such as Google and Meta are also actively developing "big language" models to apply to chatbots and many other products.
On the market, Google's Gemini is also a multimodal model, capable of processing and generating text, images and audio, similar to GPT-4o.
During the presentation, OpenAI executives demonstrated ChatGPT’s voice conversation capabilities, where users can request real-time math solutions, bedtime stories, or programming advice.

ChatGPT can communicate in natural human-like voices, robotic voices, and even sing parts of its responses. It can also analyze graph images and discuss based on that information.
OpenAI also introduced a feature that recognizes user emotions. For example, the new version of ChatGPT can listen to employees' breathing and suggest they calm down.
Additionally, GPT-4o supports multilingual chat thanks to its translation and auto-reply capabilities. It currently supports more than 50 languages.
To increase its popularity, OpenAI said it will launch a ChatGPT desktop application that integrates GPT-4o's features, giving users another platform to interact with the company's technology.
Currently, free users will have a limited number of interactions with the new GPT-4o model before the tool automatically reverts to the older GPT-3.5 version.
If paid, users will have access to more messages with the latest model.
OpenAI says more than 100 million people are using ChatGPT.
