Making Quang Ngai a growth nucleus
Sharing about the potential and investment cooperation opportunities in Quang Ngai, Mr. Vo Phien said that with the advantage of owning 130km of coastline and Dung Quat deep-water seaport, the province has great potential to develop the marine economy, especially developing heavy industry, sea and island tourism and aquaculture and seafood processing.
In its economic development strategy, Quang Ngai focuses on developing industry, supporting industry, urban areas, trade, and comprehensive services; diversifying products, prioritizing processing, manufacturing, high-tech industry, green transformation, innovation, and digital transformation...
Focus on investing in and building a synchronous infrastructure system, especially developing infrastructure in Dung Quat Economic Zone (EZ) and industrial parks (IPs). Thereby, contributing to making Quang Ngai become the growth nucleus and the driving force for socio-economic development of the Central Key Economic Region.
According to the Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, Dung Quat Economic Zone is one of the five coastal economic zones that the Government has prioritized for infrastructure investment and has the highest preferential policies in Vietnam. Currently, the economic zone has attracted large-scale industrial projects and national key projects. In the coming period, the National Oil Refinery and Energy Center will be formed here.
In addition, Quang Ngai also has 7 industrial parks. As of October 2023, there are 348 valid projects with a total registered investment capital of more than 391 trillion VND. Of these, there are 60 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a registered investment capital of nearly 2 billion USD and 288 domestic investment projects with a registered capital of nearly 346 trillion VND invested in Dung Quat Economic Zone and the province's industrial parks.
Sea, island and Sa Huynh culture resources are the core values of Quang Ngai tourism brand. The province focuses on developing 3 main product lines: sea and island tourism, cultural tourism and agricultural eco-tourism; focusing on attracting investment to develop the Dung Quat-Ly Son dynamic area. Currently, the province is focusing on preserving and promoting the unique values of Sa Huynh culture to build a dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a World Cultural Heritage.
Quang Ngai also has potential for agricultural and rural development. The whole province has 157 products achieving 3-4 star OCOP. Export items are garments, mechanical products, steel, wheat starch, seafood, South American bananas, dried chili powder, watermelon, processed foods, wood chips for paper materials... With the potential for international cooperation in human resources, from 2021 to present, the whole province has sent nearly 2,000 workers to work abroad under contracts, supplying markets in Japan, Korea, Taiwan (China)...

As a province with a dynamic economy, entering a period of strong development, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien affirmed that Quang Ngai is becoming a bright spot in attracting investment, where domestic and foreign investors have placed their trust in the journey of accompanying the province's development. The province always welcomes investors to learn and share opportunities to create a prosperous future together.
Not stopping there, Quang Ngai is determined and strongly committed by the government in improving the investment environment, accompanying businesses to overcome difficulties, creating the most favorable business and investment environment and conditions in the province.
“Quang Ngai calls for cooperation and investment attraction based on the viewpoint that 'Your success is the success of the province', enterprises are the objects of service of state agencies. The provincial government and leaders wish to accompany investors to create new successes and new prosperity for the locality, community and enterprises”, affirmed the Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee.
Mr. Vo Phien added that not only attracting international investors, Quang Ngai also wishes to develop and expand friendly cooperation relations with localities and countries in the region and the world that have similarities in culture and economy; strengthen cooperation with international organizations, embassies, businesses, domestic and foreign investors to link and support development with the following main and key tasks and solutions:
Economic restructuring associated with growth model innovation based on science, technology and innovation; Industrial development, product diversification, prioritizing processing, manufacturing, high-tech industry, green transformation, innovation, digital transformation.
Restructuring the agricultural sector towards increasing the proportion of livestock, organic agriculture, clean agriculture, applying high technology, producing goods, building brands and value chains, adapting to climate change and linking with new rural construction; Connecting, building brands, high competitiveness; developing tourism products associated with history, tradition, national cultural identity, natural conditions, focusing on developing sea and island tourism, especially Ly Son island.

Improve the quality of human resources associated with promoting scientific research, application of science and technology, innovation, meeting the demand for high-quality human resources of key industries and fields with strengths of the province; attract ODA and NGO capital to invest in many fields to continue to develop the province comprehensively and sustainably; preserve and promote historical values and cultural heritages typical of the ethnic groups and people of Quang Ngai.
The Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee affirmed that with the successful organization of this Quang Ngai Introduction Conference, the image of Quang Ngai has been promoted and spread more widely to the international investor community. From there, investors have the opportunity to understand more about Quang Ngai and through contact and dialogue, Quang Ngai also has a clearer picture of effective ways to attract investors to the province.
Based on those results, Quang Ngai hopes that in the coming time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad will continue to support in exploring cooperation opportunities from a local perspective; providing information on investment opportunities and potentials in the province, promoting the province's image to international investors...
