According to the People's Committee of Cai Nhum Town (Mang Thit District), before implementing the Plan to build a town that meets urban standards, some inter-village roads were not clear. Some households and mobile vendors still encroached on sidewalks and roads to do business.
Implementing the plan to restore order to road and urban sidewalk safety corridors, the Town Traffic Safety Committee has carried out 128 campaigns, and received commitments from 432 households. Accordingly, most of them have complied well, while a few mobile vendors have re-offended, the group continues to remind, make commitments to comply, and impose administrative penalties on 14 cases so far.
Currently, the main roads in Hamlet 1 and Hamlet 2 have been paved, have sidewalks, installed lighting, and planted trees. In 2024, the District People's Committee will invest in upgrading and renovating sidewalks and asphalting the road surface of Pham Hung, Quang Trong Hoang, and Nguyen Trai streets (in Hamlet 1), with a total cost of 5.8 billion VND.
Living in town, Mr. Nguyen Van Hai happily said: "Thanks to the investment in upgrading and expanding the roads and sidewalks, the town is becoming more spacious and trading is more bustling than before. People are also more aware of maintaining the beauty and not encroaching on the sidewalks when trading."
Mr. Le Thanh Binh - Vice Chairman of Cai Nhum Town People's Committee, said that, implementing Decision No. 04 dated February 18, 2022 of the Prime Minister on promulgating regulations on criteria, order and procedures for considering recognition of meeting the standards of urban planning, the town has met 9/9 criteria and 52/52 contents.

According to the Steering Committee for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Building Cultural Life and Environmental Protection in Tan Hoa Ward, the ward always focuses on propaganda and mobilization work to raise awareness of strictly complying with the Road Traffic Law and implementing a good environmental protection lifestyle.
Inspection and handling of encroachment on sidewalks and roadsides for trading purposes are carried out regularly. To date, there has been no encroachment.
Tan Phu Huong Lo route - from National Highway 80 to Nha Dai Bridge has invested in sidewalks, drainage systems, trees, and lighting.
However, in the area, National Highway 80 passes through - the section from Cai Doi Bridge to Huyen Bao Bridge has no sidewalk. The Ward People's Committee has submitted and requested investment policy to build sidewalks and plant trees for this road section.
After continuous efforts, Tan Hoa ward has gradually put on a fresh urban picture, life is increasingly improved. In the first days of the new year 2025, the ward was announced to have met the standards of urban planning for the period 2023-2024.

However, sidewalk trading is a real need, and in some places, sidewalk trading has even become a unique "cultural feature". Accordingly, there needs to be a suitable solution to address this need, which is also a way to thoroughly resolve the situation of illegal sidewalk encroachment for trading and business purposes.
At the same time, it is necessary to pay attention to building friendly sidewalks to ensure safety for people and vehicles.
