The information was announced by Mr. Pham Minh Hai, Deputy Director of the Road Traffic Infrastructure Management Center under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, at a press conference on the economy and society on the afternoon of January 4. The bridge will be repainted in the second quarter.
According to Mr. Hai, when the bridge was put into operation in April 2022, many people painted and graffitied it. In January, the project will install cameras in 5 areas of the bridge. The cameras will monitor the movement of boats and people visiting the park under the bridge. This will help monitor and prevent people from painting and graffitiing.

Mr. Hai added that in addition to the above two solutions, the Center proposed that the People's Committees of localities increase patrol forces and handle those who paint graffiti on constructions by means of fines and remedial measures. The proposed solution is to require violators to repaint the painted areas, restore the original state, and reward those who discover them.
Recently, the center has sent many documents requesting the People's Committee of District 1 and Thu Duc City to support patrolling, ensuring security in the area, preventing acts of painting, drawing graffiti, and stealing construction materials for the bridge. At the same time, the local authorities have encouraged people not to encroach on the sidewalks at the Ba Son Bridge construction site.
