For nearly 10 years working with blackboards and white chalk, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong (born in 1991), a Literature teacher at Nhon Trach High School (Dong Nai), has always strived to research and apply many teaching methods, bringing excitement to students in each class.

Don't want to be an "anesthetist"

From the first days of teaching, Ms. Huong was aware of the need to innovate teaching methods, wanting to bring students closer to literature. "I realized that learning about the author's biography and style if only reading and lecturing normally will make students feel dry, difficult to remember and leave little impression. So I took the idea from the personal Facebook page, guiding students to create an author profile in that interface form," Ms. Huong said.

With this method, students imagine a character using the social network Facebook. Next, the posts on the personal page must show the author's life, creative career, and honorary awards.

According to Ms. Huong, although the process of making the product is somewhat difficult, students will gain more creative thinking skills, teamwork skills and effective knowledge retention.

"Students enjoy and are excited about this learning method. They are proactive, actively participate in discussions and create together. When seeing the results, everyone is happy and satisfied," Ms. Huong shared. Most importantly, students remember the knowledge for a long time and firmly.

The young teacher believes that teaching is not simply about imparting knowledge, but also about helping students develop the necessary skills to solve situations in study and life. Literature is a special subject, related to the ability to perceive and be aesthetic, not everyone has the ability to perceive. If only explaining normally, teachers can easily become "anesthetists" in the eyes of students.

In addition to the above creative teaching methods, the female teacher proactively applies information technology, designing games that integrate literary knowledge in each class hour such as: Gold Mining, Hundred-Joint Bamboo, Who is a Millionaire. The games are often applied at the beginning or end of each class hour, to warm up, mobilize background knowledge and practice.

Ran away from home to study Pedagogy

Previously, her family was poor and did not have the means, but with the determination to pursue her education, Ms. Huong secretly hid from her parents to take the university entrance exam. At that time, she chose the Pedagogy major simply because she did not have to pay tuition. Although it was thought to be a reluctant decision, over time the female teacher grew to love and be attached to the profession.

The eager eyes of her students every class hour, the joy of seeing each child grow up made Ms. Huong realize that education is not only a job but also a mission.

"The more I get involved, the more I feel the noble and sacred mission of the teaching profession. As a perfectionist myself, I put all my heart into every lecture and don't like to follow the beaten path," the female teacher expressed.

Sharing her upcoming plans, Ms. Huong said she will continue to improve and develop her expertise, learn and share creative teaching methods with colleagues. At the same time, she will participate in training courses using AI, apply it to lectures, create conditions for students to be creative and proactive in learning.

According to the female teacher, in the digital age, innovation in teaching methods is very important and necessary. This not only helps students absorb knowledge easily but also helps promote creativity, stimulate thinking, and prepare them firmly for the era of technology.

"On the contrary, if teaching is not innovated, it will become outdated, not meeting the needs of learners, reducing the adaptability of young people in the digital environment," Ms. Huong emphasized.
